94.1 Phillies broadcasts

I was listening to the game the other night (late night West coast game), and I swear I heard during one break 2 music bed only 'spots' play during a break. And then this evening, I noticed that some of the WIP IDs were so wordy, extolling the virtues of FM clarity etc., that they were way too long to fit between pitches. They wound-up playing over pitches/action.

Could they possibly still be working out technical kinks? Is it a whole new production crew?
Just wondering. These seem like weird problems, if they are problems, to have.

It is not unique to the Phillies. The Rays broadcasts regularly rejoin the p-b-p late. Sometimes we miss home runs as a result.

The Phillies only appear good because of the problems with the Mets.
The Rays are the real deal. :)

Go, Rays!

Just heard a spot on WIP for the Phillies games. They said every pitch will be heard in "crystal clear FM." Conspicuous (to me anyway) by its absence is the word "stereo." I believe the spots on WYSP for Eagles games always emphasized the word "stereo."

So, are the Phillies game not in stereo, or are they just not saying it?

Considering they were on AM and NOT in Stereo, if WIP is not in stereo with the broadcast, they still will be on FM so it won't matter. Nobody will be calling in to complain since they are not mentioning it, anyhow.

Not mentioning it. The games are in stereo. It's quite noticeable in the car.

Wonder what the impact of the Phillies now being on 94.1 has done to PHL's ratings? In particular, Smerconish. No one seems to be happy with him anymore. I actually think his show is boring but I know he had a built in conservative base at one time.
