94.1

Am I the only person amused by this station? They show a lot of potential with cool Triple A and Alt cuts but a lot of the segues ruin it. Tonight they went from Robert Plant/Allison Krauss into Three Doors Down. Wouldn't most Triple A listeners find this annoying?

94.1 is a train wreck. I've always wondered why given its good signal, why it has had poor ratings regardless who owns it.

Have you guys bothered to look at their numbers? Their cume is higher than The Fox, Wiz, and 96 Rock. 3.7 share 12+ is as high as I remember it. Now that The Sound has been gone, it looks like they've picked up some of that audience. The segues are head-scratchers sometimes. You'd think they would just do the Sound format, but they can't seem to commit. That said, the format shouldn't be changed, just improved. Cume is over 400,000. Now if they could just keep them.

Or they could copy CC's Gen X format. Regarding the PPM's, I would say if 96Rock had a signal like 94.1 they would be higher.

I wish 94.1 locally would be more like 97.3 KBCO in Denver / Boulder; which is a interesting heritage tripple A format with a killer signal that does well in the ratings, however I think their playlist leans a little too left then what would be acceptable to some listeners in the tri state area; if you've ever been to Boulder or listened to some of the Regge and some of the stoner songs that KBCO air's you know what I'm talking about, maybe.

What is the buying power of local stoners?

Maybe it makes more sense in Colorado, where medial marijuana is legal. At least then the money goes to the state instead of to Mexican drug cartels where it would otherwise. I'm just surprised that a decent AAA format could come from Clear Channel.

That's because KBCO had years in the format before CC came along and "adjusted" it. They also did the same to pioneering modern rocker KTCL.
