I emailed the air talent last tuesday and requested Pictures of Matchstick Men by Status Quo, not only did I not get a mention on the air, not only did my song never come up, I never received an acknowledgment by email.....In the 60's when I talked to Hy, the Bird, Jerry and Mr. Wright, they always played my requests and gave my name, location, etc., I also noticed this so-called new WIBG plays mostly Philly soul, the old 990 played a varied variety of British, Surf, Folk, Rock tunes, with soul and Motown, so in a nutshell this is no WIBG in my opinion.....I think WMID does a much better job music wise and when I took their on line survey, I received a nice email informing me a t-shirt was waiting to be picked up at their studios....all I did was print the email and come in......when you ignore your audiance you ignore your ratings.....

I have e-mailed stations about the title and artist of a particular song I heard, and usually do not get a response... which makes me wonder why stations even bother showing contact information on their websites.

Sounds like a clone of WOGL then.

Send me your a request or two for my Relics & Rarities show on Saturday nights from 7-9pm. Go ahead and list your name and location and pick songs from the genre of music you prefer. Like you, I play from all the genre's of music you have mentioned. I can't speak to the situation or incident that you mention about Status Quo...but to my knowledge all of Wibbage jocks try to take care of the listener and their request(s).

Let's hear what you got for me! Email me your suggestions at [email protected].

times have REALLY changed, huh?...nothing they do will bring back the "real" WIBG...

You raise a question I have been asking myself for months, the overnight WJ shows on Satellite, is that really his old tapes or a good impressionist, it sure sounds like him but sometimes it sounds very current on what he says, and the way his voice comes in with the music just seems matched, not like his old tapes being spliced.....just curious....

The WIBG-FM website paid respect to Jim Nettleton and mentioned that Wibbage 94.3 FM was Jim's last radio home prior to his passing. I am guessing that what happened is that after our Wibbage website was hacked and taken over this past weekend by a Moslem extremist group spewing anti-Israel, USA & Denmark rhetoric, that when WIBG was able to re-take it's website that website restored to some earlier phase and will need to be re-updated.

The hostile takeover of our website took place this past Saturday early evening. I will pass along your observation...thanks.
