94.3FM -- Who are they?

Been listening to 94.3FM in Miami, a mix of American Standards, Big Band, et. al. They do not identify themselves (not even a Legal ID). Looks like it's licensed to MULTIMEDIA AMERICA INC as WRIZ-LP, but that's a construction permit that's supposedly off-air.

Any ideas?

Are "they" authoRIZing LP-FMs on second adjacent channels to full power stations now?

In the 1960s, the predecessor to "WRHC, La Cadena Azul" paid pop singer, Vic Damone some big bucks to sing "WRIZ, Rise to the Right Side of Your Dial". A daytimer at the time, they were unsuccessful with standards and then with R&B. Success finally arrived when they next tried Spanish News-Talk.

The R&B came with the swap of 1550 for 1260. 1260 had been R&B as WAME. The swap was the birth of WWOK Country.

WSRF 1580 in Fort Lauderdale used to say it was the station nearest your glove compartment.

Oldies

You are likely picking up WGMX 94.3 out of Marathon. They don't stream but the all-guessing Wikipedia lists their format as 'True Oldies' meaning they were once likely an affiliate of Scott Shannon's defunct network. They may now be carrying a new oldies network or programming the station locally.

Yes, The FCC will ask for public comments and objections. If everything is aok.... it is a go.

I began listening on 94.3 while driving around town, and I keep hearing "WZZR, Real Radio" everywhere, sometimes with quite respectable signals.
