Why would 2 Carly Simon songs be played within 45 minutes, without one being a request? It seems to me that it would be hours before repeating an artist, except maybe Beatles, Stones or... Napoleon XIV-

Was it the same song there is a problem, if not (my best guess) is there a set of "timed (3:00, 3:15 3:30, 3:45 etc.) filler songs and one (or more) of the Carly Simon song are in it, and the music log program "needed" one of the songs to make the time come out correctly on one of the hours.

At other times of day, you would probably be correct, but this was morning drive, about the only time that they are truly "live," about the only time all day in which they give the exact time, rather than saying "it is coming up on" whatever hour.

Then it most likely was the "live" announcer took a request and didn't look ahead to next hours playlist. I have done something something worst when I played a request at the end of my morning shift. I forgot to look what the satellite service was playing next hour. Brooks and Dunn's "I saw the Light" twice in 10 min.

When it came to repetition, no one could touch 97.1, back when Come-in-last owned them, of course! On one occasion, they played "Livin' Thing" by Electric Light Orchestra FOUR STRAIGHT TIMES! ;D Looking back at it on yes.com, it looked like they had played "Livin' Thing" for 14 minutes! Which was because they did! 8)
