Apology For Soap Opera

I'll take an air sickness bag over here, myself.

You know, soap operas died off for a reason. It's the same thing that's been going on here for months now. Threats being thrown around, "different" posters attacking Joe, or attacking Roy Henderson, or people who mysteriously find our little slice of heaven to air grievances about the same subject that's been beaten to an absolute pulp.

For the love of God, if you all are going to do something about it then do it. All this talk, and absolutely no action. I swear, I really am thinking we're watching a puppet show, and fellow posters, it our strings that are getting pulled.

Purple, this apology is for you and everyone else out there in a state of ad nauseam.

A few years ago, before I embarked on my journey to resurrect a certain LPTV station, people I know in the radio/tv industry -- as well as members of this board -- gave me some advice I should have heeded. That advice was to stay far away from a certain broadcaster. Problem was that I needed an analog LPTV license to fulfill my dream, and analog LPTV licenses weren't issued anymore. This broadcaster had that only viable analog LPTV left in Houston. I had no choice but to seek him, and later make a deal with his attorney. A deal in which I got royally screwed.

Because a certain broadcaster complained about my airing "dirty laundry," a few months ago I ceased posting about this subject at the request of the board administrators. Someone, however, keeps stirring the pot using different names -- e.g., Kile Alumni, fondra firebug, robertsez, pearle, and so on -- to rekindle the controversy on this board. This board is not a one-way broadcast. It's an open discussion forum. When someone posts something relevant to a subject I'm involved with -- especially when it is factually inaccurate -- I'm going to respond to it and defend myself and/or my actions.

Again, I apologize to those of you out there tired of this soap opera. I will do my best to ignore the puppet string pulling posts from a certain user (and those from his many user personas).

For what it's worth, Joe, I have a suspicion as to who La Eme is. I believe he just wanted to try and scare you away from messing with Mr. DW, as the latter's so messed up. I don't think The M on these boards is as bad as the Mexican Mafia, at least I sure as heck hope he isn't...
Not going to say anymore, or reveal who I think it is because I could be very wrong.


Also, Joe, I know you've gone through a heck of a lot. Just do your best to ignore those who do wrong, and it will settle down over here in due time. Heck, we might even get some of our old and valuable members back, after this dirty laundry stuff has quieted down. I sure hope so anyway.

I'd just be happy to have some of our old and not so valuable members back. I mean, in retrospect, the good ol' days around here were when Fo-fo-fo-hye and Clear Answer were prodding around, singing the praises of Clear Channel and stirring trouble.

At least that stuff would garner a chuckle or two. This foolishness is just down right frustrating.

...but let's be real, Mouse. The members missing around here can't be lain at Joe's doorstep. We lost a big portion of our oldtimers when we got kicked to the curb and the site unceremoniously shut down. It's never been the same since.

Joe, as for your apology, it's unnecessary to me. It's a public forum and you have as much right here to post whatever you want as I do. You want to be the broadcasting 5-0, have at it. The thing that irks me is you being wishy washy. If you're going to hold these illegal operator's nose to the grindstone, then do it. Hold them accountable, and let's see some action. NAL's, revocations, fines, etc. If you're not going to do it, and are just discharging hot air, then please, just shut up. Either go balls to the wall, or take your balls and go home. This market needs someone to clean up these blatant rule breakers, not someone that's going to turn tail and run at the first sign of trouble.
