94.5 Sold

As I mentioned on the other, seemingly similar, thread, there seems to be a LOT of activity right around 94 on the FM dial. Are they sure that they can squeeze something else in there? At any rate, good thing most of us now have radios with digital readouts! Try listening on a radio with an analog dial, and it is sometimes almost impossible to know exactly what you are listening to!

Agree about the crowd. I'm excited about a new station, but not thrilled about the frequency. I'm interested in seeing what effect WGSQ 94.7 has on it considering it comes in loud and clear on Elm Hill and Lebanon Rd. East of town and obliterates Way-FM's 94.5 transmitter, even in parts of Hendersonville. I can almost physically see Way's 94.5 tower across the lake in Hendersonville from my house in Old Hickory and 94.7 dominates it. I assume it will be just fine SW of town.

Now can we only hope for an AC format station sandwiched between Mix and the River?

New owner is a radio vet.

And should know better. This is not joyful day for Mr. Richards. A standalone Class A FM that's short spaced with a city grade signal that barely covers its COL. With WGSQ right next door, this is going to be one heck of an uphill battle. The CP has been shopped around by the broker for months. It shouldn't be much of a surprise that no one in town bought it. If it was going to be a truly viable signal, Grace wouldn't have sold it. They would have built it and added it to their existing Nashville properties.

From the FCC site; The 60 dBu ends at Fairview. Perhaps Mr. Richards can get his deposit back before he actually has to pay for the CP, much less construct, staff and operate it. Seriously, this is very sad.

however, your link is the current site...not the Bellevue upgrade...
still won't cover all of Davisdon County well with the Bellevue COL.

Even with his map, he had the coverage area ending at Dickson, well before Fairview.

again...you're looking at the current site. here's a link to what the new Bellevue COL site should look like:

Isn't that what I said earlier? Anyway, thanks for a current map. I will be right in the middle of the coverage area for this new station. That plus could actually be the cell phone tower nearest to me! ;D
