94.5 The Vibe may be flipping soon!

Their Facebook page is referencing the myvibelv.com site and seems to not mention the frequency. All the posts on their wall speculating about a format change have been removed.

This sucks. I was hoping I could enjoy The Vibe when I go to Vegas later this summer.

Now we're going to have NO commercial dance stations in the US.

94.5 The Vibe sounded best musically when MikeO was programming it. It was too poppy when TicTak programmed it, and sounds like a carbon copy of Pulse 87 with Joel Salkowitz programming it. I'm going to miss this station. I'll never forget walking down the Strip listening to the Vibe. Hearing the station blasted from cars driving on the Strip. Listening to it for 8 hours straight when playing poker. Listening to it for 6 hours while driving through Vegas on a cross country road trip in 2009. Going to a nightclub with 94.5 The Vibe broadcasting live from there. And of course, many songs I heard in power rotation on 94.5 that remind me of being in Vegas.

Seems like they're going to completely alienate the audience by putting rock on 94.5 and pop on 96.7. You'd think it would be the other way around, so that Jelli-pop could at least keep some of The Vibe's listeners.

The Vibe will come back as an internet station. Question is who will get the rights?

What a shame. The problem is not the audience, or the music, or the person programming it; it's always the sales people. If the sales people can't sell the station, then they are doomed. Guarantee that's what is driving the flip, a station can show poorly in rankings, but if the sales manager, and sales force knows how to sell, there is never a need to flip. Rarely is the grass greener on the other side, but hey let's just try and copy an iPod since that's what people are listening to instead of the radio..

end rant.

THAT'S A SHAME VIBE 94.5 FM WAS GREAT THEY SHOULD HAVE STAYED TOP 40/DANCE. THERE MUST BE SOME KIND OF HATE TOWARD DANCE MUSIC. TOP 40/DANCE IS THE HOTTEST FORMAT POINT BLANK. YOU CAN'T TELL ME THAT HOT AC IS BETTER OR REGULAR TOP 40 OR ROCK. THIS IS BULL.. SH... THAT THEY DECIDED TO FLIP TO ROCK. THEY DON'T KNOW HOW TO RUN A RADIO STATION, SHAMEFUL. TOP 40/DANCE FORMAT IS TOO HOT I GUESS THEY CAN'T HANDLE IT

I do remember in early 2009 I heard only one commercial on 94.5 The Vibe every hour, for the same bail bonds store.
All Access just reported that both stations will flip later this afternoon (6/29). It's noon in Vegas now.

Only for 4 hours on 99.7, but 24/7 online, at least it's something than nothing. I did add the page and read the comments that listeners left, especially the one regarding " 3 days after the EDC and you're off the air?" It was already bound to happen, but all I can say to the "new" Vibe is good luck with 99.7 and hopefully Highway Radio can work out a better deal in the near future.

the vibe still sucks, it went downhill July 1st 2010 when it went from Trance, Techno, House, Eurodance to dance remixed top 40 that got played over and over each hour, then after it moved to 99.7 during it's 4 hour run they were going back to the days prior to July 1st 2010 but when it went back full on 24/7 they went right back to the fake edm top 40 pop garbage and less than a month 99.7 shut them down and fired Mike Oaks, and ever since Jelli took over it was a joke, 96.7 played nothing but fake edm top 40 pop garbage and Dubstep, even the BPM channel played the same crap, numerous people wrote to Jelli asking them to either remove the bad music from BPM or give us a station free of the dance pop garbage, they failed to listen to the fans, and now they are no more, I tuned into 96.7 I believe it's called pulse and they claim to be the premire EDM station in Vegas, but they play the same crap as the rest of the 20 plus top 40 stations in Vegas
