94.5 WERB Berlin High School Radio

I still remember the time in 1988 when their station was at 97.3 FM. The signal was supposed to get out as far as the U-Conn Medical Center in Farmington. They moved to 94.5 to make way for WZBG-FM 97.3 of Litchfield around 1989.

I remember a time when they were on 89.9 and for me it was either Berlin or Weaver High School depending on the direction of the wind, which doesn't say much for Berlin as I was within 3 miles of them. (think the area of the Boy & Girls club)

This is ridiculous. I remember many times picking up Berlin High Schools WERB 94.5 on my car radio sitting in my parent's driveway in Southington. It was crystal clear. However today driving along the Chamberlain Highway in Berlin it was very staticy before I completely lost the signal to bleed over from WMAS.

W-"erb" ...? I bet the kids have a lot of fun with those calls! ;D

Useless fact. CT Radio Historian Michael Collins was responsible for getting 97.3A added to the Table of Allotments.

Cool fact: Chris Ryan who does overnights and Saturdays on 102.9 The Big D (and produces The Dan Lavallo Show on The Talk of Connecticut) got his start in radio at WERB while he was a student at Berlin High School.
