94.5 in Lexington used to be 100kW but not anymore, I think it's down to 80kW or 85kW for the 94.5 in Dayton.

94.5 in Lexington also used to be good but not anymore.

Hey, Bandit - Don't see a Tantrum 94.5 in the final 64. Did you submit anything? I did vote for a Brit Pop format suggested by a Tim B. Is that your idea?

read this ccontest from a twitter feed...
How cool or lame is this contest going ???

I didn't submit anything so who am I to complain about any of this?

To me it would be like saying you hated Bush or Reagan but at the same time acknowledging you've never taken the personal responsibility to cast a vote when you had the opportunity.

If they did the stunt/contest on a real full powered signal then it would be worth it to cast a vote.

So you're saying that none of those 64, even on a limited signal, might make a difference? I don't understand that. Respectfully, we can regularly come in here, waste a few minutes and complain about how stale radio has become but when given an opportunity to perhaps make a difference, we find some excuse to justify our not taking a few more minutes and offering some input for the better? No. I just don't get it.

oookay,
Im in buffalo...and not listening to cincy radio.
closest thing is watching wkrp reruns..

so I started a NEW topic and it was clumped into this
thread we are reading now... im just curious,
is this taken seriously/really happening? or just
lame downtime between now and the
memorial day format flip...

Knowing CC they will just flip it back to a WLW AM simulcast come April 1st, which is what they intended to do with this contest/stunt in the first place. They did a similar thing back when they flipped 107.1 to CHR as KISS FM doing the name our station contest.

This wasn't my idea. This was probably somebody trying to do a cheap imitation of MTV in the '80s.

Thanks for sharing your apathy. Neither of us can say with certainty what type of stunt this is. Even if they return to the simulcast, there will be information they can glean from the vote. At least you have something of a voice if you vote on those ideas. You accomplish nothing if you don't.

What idea did you submit, NoWayNoCC?

I didn't submit one, because I'm not gonna have any dealings with Clumpy Channel.

I wrote this on my blog:

"America's seemingly wide smorgasbord of TV and radio stations doesn't always foster diversity of voices. Rather, it often creates media congestion. This congestion has turned the airwaves into a specialty medium where right-wing talking points are amplified and songs are repeated too often. Dissenting voices usually can't afford to compete."

Have you ever considered working with Media Bridges?

Based on the current coverage area of 94.5, I question the success any format will have. I also wonder why so much was made in the newspaper about it duplicating WLW's signal so it could be heard in downtown buildings, etc. if that wasn't going to continue.
