94.7 First Song Prediction Thread

If Harry "The End Is Near" Camping unloads 94.7 after all of these years, I'm sure Pacifica won't be too far behind. Yes, they've turned down many deals, but wasn't there a story posted here not too long ago regarding their financial future and weighing their options to sell 99.5, or other stations in their portfolio?

Now that a 94.7 swap is off the table for WBAI, I don't believe that they have any more FM options in the market, since I can't believe that they would shut down New York 100%. It is still possible that they would swap a major AM signal for 99.5, taking the FM tradeoff for big coverage (1130, 1050, 1010, 1560....or MAYBE 570 which is a superior 5K, etc), but not sure

But they would NEVER leave New York completely.

As far as 93.9 is concerned, this speculation is ridiculous. WNYC is CERTAINLY not going anywhere.

With the staff and board at Pacifica, even if there was a decision to do something about 99.5, it would take YEARS for anything to actually happen.

Probably the most dysfunctional organization (I use those words lightly) in broadcasting.

Yes, that is what I understand.

But, if things get bad enough and they are about to be evicted from both the studio and the Empire because of back payments due, I'll bet even some of the anarchists over there would pay attention.

The new 94.7 FM WNSH first song will be Brad Paisley's Old Alabama. It will be this song cause It will combine a link from the past great WHN with Alabama and to one of today's biggest country stars. ;)

Country? I agree with previous posters who've suggested Alan Jackson, "Gone Country." The lyrics, especially "I'm a simple girl myself / grew up on Long Island," are almost too fitting.

Big and Rich's "Comin To Your City" or "The Lost Trailers" "Holler Back". The latter mixes a little urban style with country. It can't be too classic of a country song...think new country.

I would launch with this myself... If I was 'the cloud' .. seems fitting.
