94.7 FRESH FM Now Hot AC

In the ratings that just came out Washington D.C.'s 94.7 Fresh FM has been placed under Hot AC instead of AC.

But according to CBS Radio on their website 94.7 Fresh FM is under AC

If you look at their playlist, Fresh-FM in Washington is definitely Hot AC (powers 40x a week, lots of brand new songs, Sick Puppies/Shinedown/etc.)

I know that Arbitron kept WLNK/Charlotte as "Talk" for years when Mediabase (and BDS I think) had them as Hot AC, so not sure how Arbitron classifications affect Mediabase and BDS

All the CBS Fresh stations (with the exception of the new "Fresh 102.5" St. Louis) are pretty much hot ACs.

...except they report to the AC charts, giving strong rankings for songs like "Teenage Dream". Unless there's a backlash, other ACs will follow suit and Hot AC will become less defined.

I really don't think so, just cause the Fresh ACs aren't anywhere close in ratings to the traditional ACs in their markets - traditional AC still rates MUCH higher than "Fresh AC"

Only 2 really making it right now are the rebranded KEZK to Fresh 102.5 as that is the only AC for St. Louis and Fresh 102.7 in NY which has shot up nicely. Fresh thats doing the worst is in Chicago.

The NY station alone is enough to affect overall chart performance, not to mention direct and indirect influence on other stations.
