KTWV is going after KOST here in Los Angeles. KOST usually does well in the PPM ratings during this time of year. Why not give another choice for holiday music. KOST playlist for the holidays is bland and boring for years but KTWV is playing some really good stuff.

I don't think KIFM will because they are doing just too good in the ratings to change anything up. As for KJJZ, they are BA fed in so they won't go all Christmas until the day before which is when I think they start their Smooth Jazz Christmas special (which is actually very good) for about 3-4 days.

That is true, with most AC stations you get the same Christmas mix, KTWV's Smooth Jazz/Smooth AC hybrid approach is a nice change up for Christmas music.
 
I actually like the way KTWV is doing it. For years I would listen to KUDL and Star 102 back home in Kansas City for holiday music (neither are on the air anymore) and KOST and they play the same ones over and over. Im just waiting to see what KOLA and The Fish here in Los Angeles are gonna do when they flip.
 
@wdb2003 KTWV has already flipped to the christmas format? You were right about Smooth/AC stations playing holiday music in early to mid November. I'm patiently waiting until the end of the month for Urban Contemporary 102.3 KJLH to start playing holiday music. Sorry to disrupt the flow of this thread but Christmas has been my favorite time of the year since I was a kid, I LOVE IT ;D 8) :) ;) :D ::). In the meantime I'll tune into KTWV to listen 8).
