So on July 12th, Entercom is going to turn KKSN from Spanish sports into a "local and regional rock" format, simulcasting the HD-2 channel of KNRK and obtaining the calls KTRO. While a novel idea, my question is 'who's gonna listen?' I hope I'm wrong, but I don't see much interest gained by making this move.

It is KTRO. It's becoming KKSN. I think it's an interesting way to promote the HD2. Let people know what the programming is like, in a way that's available to everyone. They just might sell some HD Radios, that way.

I'm listening online and I'm just agog. The Portland indie music scene sounds a lot like Seattle used to before grunge mania took over.

And though they're not huge ratings/$$$ cows, AM rock stations can fill voids, like indie and local rock. And promote HD radio. Now if they can put more into it. Personalities knowledgeable about the PDX local music scene, band interviews, club dates, they might have a HELL of a station....

Anything but another lame talk station........

With the station having been on the air for about ten months or so, what's response been like?
