The alternative rock people don't have to be sore losers when Nash FM is broadcast over the airwaves starting tomorrow.

That would not have been a problem if they did not tease us with the WRXP call letters.

It's not a huge loss considering the weakness of the signal... At least not to me because I can barely get the signal in where I am.... I want 101.9 back... or any other frequency that hits western suffolk...

I've sold Cumulus short on many things over the years. But if they debut a country station in New York in 8 hours, I will have nothing but respect for them. I want to not only hear the NASH FM format, but also look forward to everything else it can bring to the table.

One thing's for sure, Nashville, and all the artists have been looking for this for over ten years. They will be over this station if it debuts later this morning.

Look Jason Aldean sold out Madison Square Garden in minutes last week. Tick Tock...we'll learn soon!

And it speaks really well for the validity of the format in NYC that outside of a national content sharing initiative..

it wouldn't stand on its own or be worth it to Cumulus.

If Nash FM is a "success" - it will be because other stations and initiatives prop it up. Not because country is a home run for NYC.

I really don't understand the excitement about this launch.

Well, guess what??? We do not count!!!! Corporate goals count!!! I have fought for a country station for a long time and have read---and written plenty of endless bla, bla, bla on the subject. The powers in the NY radio world and their money matters masters have had their JACKS,BLINKS.etc,etc.Now it is time for this sixty year old and his 19 yr old daughter to listen to country without dealing with pirates, cassettes, out of market taping trips, etc, etc!!!!!

I would say you are partially correct. You don't count at 60, but your daughter does.

Don't feel so bad, at 56, I don't count, either.

I'm excited for the launch of a new station regardless of format. I will try to listen from the plane as I am landing at LGA at 10. Hopefully I can hear this 94.7 and not WMAS, WDSD, or something else.

I have taken different radios in the airplane over the years. I have a pair of Radio Shack cans I have had for awhile now, and they work the best. But, some of the passengers have kittens when they see me wearing them.

Be careful of "birdies", of course. Those "birdies" can interfere with the ground communications if the conditions are right.

I was able to pick up WQXR at 96.3 while over the Chesapeake Bay, in 2003.

Good luck!

That weird voiceover lady now says at 9:47 this morning. Country stunt is now all Michael-Jackson currently.

The Top 40/Pop has ended, now all WABC 77 Airchecks. BTW the webstream is about 25-30 seconds delayed than the real thing.

Feels like the election is happening! Weird. Alicia Keys singing "New York State of Mind".

OH YEAH? Well, I have fought for a dance/EDM station for a long time and have read---and written plenty of endless bla, bla, bla on the subject. The powers in the NY radio world and their money matters masters have had their JACKS,BLINKS.etc,etc.Now it is time for this forty-six year old and his 9 yr old daughter to listen to dance music without dealing with pirates, cassettes, out of market taping trips, etc, etc!!!!!

Sorry...I just couldn't resist :) For whatever happens (and I write this 35 minutes before launch), good luck :)
