94.7 Updates

As WFME 94.7 has not been broadcast in HD, I wonder whether Cumulus will make the investment to add it to the signal. Their two FM's in this area, WPLJ and WFAS do broadcast in HD, but the latter has never had an HD2.

That would be great if they installed HD. Then we can sit back and read posts by someone complaining that they can't hear 94.5 WPST/Trenton in midtown Manhattan "because of all the IBUZ spewed by the hash generator at 94.7." I can't wait!!!!! ;D

Probably depends what the station will actually be first, if they intend on moving (or trying to move it), etc.

I wouldn't necessarily give too much merit to that sportsrantz article. The guy was wrong the first time about ESPN moving to WFME. Plus its a sports website, which naturally is going to be biased for a sports format.

Maybe Cumulus could broadcast Family radio programming on WFME HD-2 until they get a station to replace 94.7???

Actually I would like to see True Oldies Channel move from WPLJ HD-2 to 94.7 HD-2 - Maybe Family Radio on 94.7 HD-3 (hopefully Family Radio will return to more outside ministries being their end of the world doctrines have been proven false)

Why would they do that? I wouldn't broadcast those idiots on my station, HD2, 3 or 19. They lost any credibility after the end of the world stunt. Perhaps the best radio prank ever...

I bet ya the new owners stunt with its the end of the world as we know it by REM like merlin media did in philly with 106.9

They could be different and do Rapture by Blondie instead.

Another factor that may cause a bit of a delay is that an application was just made to the FCC to change WDVY 106.3 from a commercial to non-commercial station.
Since WDVY does not put much of a signal into NYC and the immediate area, I wonder why transferring it from Cumulus to Family Radio was part of the deal to acquire WFME. Perhaps they can use it to feed translators in various areas?
I believe it has been a number of years since the new format for a large local station has been unknown for over a month.
