94.9 Pirate?

Anybody heard of a oldies station operating in the woodlands on 94.9 calls them selves "woodlands township neighborhood radio" no call letters sounds like a pirate or a part 15 on steroids, reported as professional sounding.

Nothing down here on the channel, since Alex Jones was silenced. 94-9 is typically quiet unless KHTZ blows in this direction. I'm a little too far away to be picking up something specific from the Woodlands. I barely receive the new KLJJ-LP down here, and it takes a few antenna readjustments just to make it happen. There is one CP on file, facility #194671, that is licensed to Conroe and expires 8-20-2016. I highly doubt it's what you are hearing, but they do need to get moving forward on it soon.

I believe you have a good ol' fashioned pirate on your hands up there in the township.

I need to make a road trip and check it out if the water ever goes down ? P.D. wonder What You have in Your data about application #1641183 all I have is it was application filled in Houston for channel 237L1 wonder what the status is. I would appreciate any information You have.

As for new stations on 95.3 (channel 237) there is a CP for a religious LPFM in northeast Harris County, no call sign yet. There is also an application for another religious LPFM that would be on the KPFT tower in northwest Harris County (I suspect this will not be granted in its present form.)

We already have KEPH operating from Friendswood on 95.3, which can be heard with spotty reception near downtown Houston. And of course KTTF out of Tomball. I can hear KEPH and KTTF with a weak signal clash along the Katy Freeway between downtown and the West Loop.

I also notice that there are several applications with the FCC for a new translator on 95.3 in Huntsville, which would likely cause headaches for the Air1 translator in Conroe.

Sorry First Fone, I don't have anything recorded for the application number that you have provided. By chance, do you have a Facility ID# available that you can provide on that specific ch. 237 application? That's how I've always gone about documenting and tracking these new applications.

For channel 237L1 in the Houston/Galveston MSA, I have KEPH-LP and KTTF-LP that Mediafrog has mentioned, plus fac. #193958, which was dismissed in the Cesar Guel letter of inquiry. This particular application was dismissed in May 2014, and I believe is the one that Frog references in the above post for NW Harris County. Don't worry about this one, it's a goner. Guel has enough on his hands right now, trying to hold on to the facilities he's currently got on the air. Resurrection of this LPFM is highly unlikely. He can't even get KRUT-LP on the air before it expires, and having it suddenly come to life at the wrong transmit site for a 24 hour period isn't going to cut it. I have video of the proposed antenna site of KRUT-LP, which has NO equipment on it suited for an FM broadcast. It's nothing more than a big CB antenna that the junkyard that erected it uses for communications purposes with other area salvage yards. Just let him try to file paperwork for KRUT-LP indicating that it tested from its CP coordinates.

That leaves KORG-LP in Cleveland, which is already on the air, from what I've read. Can't verify it from here, other than Operation Refuge filing for the License to Cover, which was granted in June 2015.

You are absolutely right. 94-9 is not one of Cesar's. I have 94-9 and 101-7 mixed up. I posted in error. There are so many Guel applications out there, that I mistakenly added this one to the fold. I wouldn't be the least bit surprised if he had performed some consultation or engineering work with it, but no I can't prove it, and that statement reflects only my personal opinion.

I can, however, prove that the 94-9 signal which was airing Alex Jones's Infowars programming did not originate from A Plus Toyo's antenna at the junkyard, though, and from where the transmission actually did commence. I'd rather not traverse that particular path, however. I have no reason, nor desire, to incriminate the individual who broadcast that particular transmission. I have nothing against him/her, and have personally encouraged them in their efforts to continually move forward with their efforts. What I do find peculiar, is why this individual would risk everything they have built over the past couple of years, to produce an unauthorized transmission from a site that has the undeniable potential to be a valuable contribution to his own future prosperity, and a brilliant diamond to the surrounding communities of which it resides?

Anyway, shame on the Woodlands pirate. Obtain a license or shut down.

Nice catch, confirming the earlier report. Did you listen until fadeout? If so, how far did the signal go? No sign of it here at my Cy-Fair location, although I can get KLJJ with a fair signal.

If you want to check out KORG, the station streams at http://www.korglp.com/ There is a listen link which has a preroll ad, then reveals a TuneIn link. Oldies format.

Because you are breaking the law, Joe. And you should be held accountable for breaking the law.

It's really that simple. It matters not to me how many other pirates there are out there. I have taken a special interest in you. I believe that you can be rehabilitated.
