So I was Listening to 94.9litefm at about 7:05pm and there it was the Announcement
"Atlantas Official Christmas Music Station" My First Time hearing it if you have Heard this Commercial Please let me know?? Also,When do you think they will go all Christmas?? Also, when do you think the Sneek Peeks Weekend will come as early as this Weekend? What do you think? Please Let me know>?

They will go the same day Delilah starts feeding the all holiday version of her show. (It is offered as an option to affiliate stations so they can have her playing Christmas music as early as they want to).

My prediction is no matter when the "Christmas Lights" are turned on, Lite will stunt on December 26th and become a different format. They have never even prepared their listeners for a flip this early in the year running an ad like that.

I could see that. I think any month now, CC will be spinning that format wheel. Whether it's Lite FM or not, only time will tell.

So I was Listening Again today at 5:01pm and there it was Again "94.9 Atlanta's Official Christmas Music Station" I have a Feeling they Will Play Christmas Music Tommorow Night With Delilah I will be Listening so lets see What Happens?

I heard it Again at 5:59pm!! I guess they are Playing it Every Hour!!

LITE is just being smart and preemptive by staking their claim of ownership. They are hoping to send a message to anyone else considering making the move. So they have their internal target set--probably November 3--but will go within minutes of a competitor who thinks they can grab the position. They are ready to go on a moments notice.

I've Heard it Again its my 6th Time Hearing "94.9 Lite FM Atlanta Official Christmas Music Station!!

I have big feeling we might have some christmas jingles in the Atlanta Air Tonight!~ with Delilah

Why again would CC want to flip Lite from AC to dance or country?

1) Lite has the richest demo in town. Why program to an administrative assistant renting in Buckhead when you've already got the rich housewife owning in Buckhead ?
2) Lite, though down in the summer, still owns the AC format over recent memory.
3) It's the easiest format to V/T.
4) Not much can go wrong on A/C. It's always there and trouble-free.

Can't see it.

I agree with you, Mr. Troone. From a local standpoint, flipping to Movin' wouldn't make sense. I think this really depends on how badly CC wants an affiliate for Whoopi in Atlanta.

Re: 94.9Litefm Christmas Music Announcement!!

Lite-FM in NYC is already promoting its Christmas Music programming using Nat King Cole's "The Christmas Song." It says it will switch on Thanksgiving. But in years past if a competitor went all-Christmas, Lite immediately switched too, before it was scheduled.

(Both Lite's are owned by Clear Channel. But unlike Lite in Atlanta, WLTW is always #1 in NYC. I doubt CC will pull the plug on Lite in Atlanta.)

Remember we are dealing with Clear channel here. That's why I think they will flip Lite. It would be stupid but I think that's what is going to happen.

I got a better idea: How about CC sells off its entire Atlanta cluster!

Actually they might as well except for Viva. They are running everything else they have into the ground. .

I'm gonna go out on a limb here and state that I think I'm probably the only person on this board who doesn't really give a damn about Christmas music much less when Lite is going to start their seasonal programing.

You're not alone. It's not necessarily Christmas music itself I have a problem with as it is being force-fed down our throats around the clock. Sure, there are other choices, but before you know it, stations in other formats may do the same thing.

So Its Official WPCH 96.5 in Augusta is Playing Christmas Music as of this Morning! When do you Think 94.9 WLTM Step up to the Plate!! I know for Sure that They Have to Start Playing Christmas Music This Friday Night With Delilah! If not on Saturday Morning!
