94.9's New Morning Show?

Is it true 94.9's new morning show is going to be syndicated?

And I ain't talkin' about JB&B - I mean a veteran in this market whose show is currently syndicated on a CC-owned station in Dallas.

Yeah baby!

Please, the only thing worse than the KICKS morning show is Moby. Can we not get a "masculine" morning show around here? Not to step on any female toes, but every freaking morning show in this town(except 790 the Zone) is chick driven. I would like a place to hear manly music with manly d-jays. Not the pusswhips we got now. Are you listening Caddy.............

Can I get a "Yeah, baby". That just gets annoying. I think his act is tired, but he is more masculine than anything KICKS has. Just alittle too much fluff.

the times have changed, and Moby has not. He does small-town radio. Great for a classic station.

With 94.9's playlist skewing older, all signs likely point to Moby in the Morning - try and grab all the old listeners from his Kicks glory days.

Could be wrong, though...

Moby may be many things to many people, but the guy ain't stupid. We're talkin' Clear Channel here - who is trying to do a country version of 97.1JAMZ (and will probably have the same result).

They're flipping to FM talk.

WNGC is not flipping to FM Talk... If Moby goes to WUBL-FM, WNGC can get back all those listeners who tuned away when they made the mistake of hiring him.

MOBY IF YOU READ THESE POSTS (WE KNOW YOU DO)... PLEASE GO TO 94.9 AND GET THE HECK OFF OF WNGC!

Yeah, cause that worked so well when they tried to do it at Peach with Dale O'Brien. LOL.

"The more things change..."

Could be right, could be wrong, but my sources now say that Moby is staying put.

He is about to move to another studio location after the first of the year. But Moby is all about the money... if CC was to offer the right package, he'd go. Maybe Moby should try and get in with CC and get them to help syndicate his show. It would make more sense to go to WUBL... 94.9 The Bull is not going away anytime soon, and having his show on a station inside Atlanta instead of 2 rimshots from WNGC and 92.9 The Bear from Griffin, and its in competition with KICKS: is all pluses for him! Who knows, maybe he'll be get his show on XM someday!

I don't think Moby's such a great idea...he's a little old to be playing to the 18 to 34 crowd and CC's all about that demo

Besides....Moby is doing well financially, so I hear, with his syndication. Rumors are that he's grossing up to half million $$ annually.
Is ClearChannel paying ANYONE in the Atlanta market, on the air, anywhere approaching $500K??
Moby must give 60 days notice to his stations if he takes the gig. And those stations ain't gonna keep it secret if he takes the CC gig.
Seeing the execution so far it does not appear this is going to be the next great fad in radio formatics....I think Moby knows that. He is positioned for much greater success doing what he's doing now.

I always wondered why 106 didn't pick him up for an afternoon show til I found out that the same company owns 106 and 101. Shame the folks at Disney somehow thought he was "too country" to be a country music DJ..........
