94 HJY

This might sound nerdy, but it seems that HJY recently reloaded its music catalog. I've noticed that the automation is letting songs that fade out play out a bit longer, and different version of songs have been played (like the original version of "La Grange" from ZZ Top instead of the echo-y one from the greatest hits album). It also seems that the gain is set higher. When "La Grange" was ending, they let it fade to the point that hissing was building up. Just thought I'd see if anyone noticed...

I was listening to WWBB last week, while visiting my parents in Barrington. The sound was awful. Songs would play & would sound muffled. And times where 2 elements were playing at once.

In addition, might any of it have anything to do with the fact that WHJY is debuting new voiceovers?

NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!
AAAAHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!

I can't take any more voicetracking

VoiceOVERS, not voicetracking--not yet anyway! Yeah, it seems that their night guy, Matt Battle, is doing some voiceover work. Sad thing is he, like Al Matthews, has trouble saying the call letters. He sounds like he's saying "A-J-Y." Oh well...

While 'HJY does feature much voicetracking, at least they are completely local. In this day and age - especially for a Clear Channel station - that is all for which we could ask.
