Refering to my post in the other thread about the format switch, there will be live hellicopter traffic with Greg Charlebois and news during the drives. Barry Morgan will be doing news in the mornings, and Caroline Phaneuf will be doing afterno0ns. I'm imagining there will be a live person in Afterno0ns and not just Caroline. Table Talk with Orla Johannes is one of 3 of the shows from the talk format that are definitely staying, and it's expanding to 2 hours on Friday nights. Coast To Coast AM is still being aired overnights, and is running from 12 to 6. The odd thing about that is instead of carrying Canadian Press News like they did every hour, they play a song, then commercials then rejoin Coast To Coast. The transition is really smo0th to0. I listen every night and it hasn't been choppy or rejoined late. The only thing they've been doing during days besides music is an hourly marine weather report. They haven't been carrying Charles Adler, and I don't know if they'll pick him up after Tuesday or not. If CJUL in Cornwall can do it with their oldies format, why can't CINW?
I'll give them some credit with the music selection. I've been hearing some Canadian 80's content I haven't heard in a very long time. Platinum Blonde, Colin James and Streetheart. Plus Older Bryan Adams before he went soft. Songs Like "the Kids Wanna Rock", etc. They're not afraid to rock at times, and there's a fair amount of Motown and Soul. I heard the Theme from Shaft tonight. I had to crank that one.
