95.1 WAYV adding more CHR songs to rotation.

95.1 WAYV started adding in more Top 40 songs overnight. I asked them and they said they will slowly be turning into a more CHR Top 40 station. Some songs they added:

Jay Z - Empire State Of Mind
Britney Spears - Hold It Against Me
Eminem - Love The Way You lie
Cee Lo Green - Forget U
Chris Brown - Yeah X3
Drake - Find Your Love
Edward Maya - Stereo Love
B.o.B. - Airplanes / Nothin' On You

I hope they go more Top 40 (and Stay) like they used to be... years ago.
 
I know you will all shoot me for this, but I liked the years when Tommy Frank was at the helm and had it in a more Alternative, Modern, Top 40 unit.
 
I was a part- timer at WAYV for five years....Every time AYV wasn't in the top three AYV would add more CHR hits and stop leaning AC..the second the ratings went up BAM!! Right back to AC...I kid not...Gary hates anything "urban" on WAYV..when I first got there we played many 80s gold..Tommy Frank was instructed absolutly no Michael Jackson...figure out what I'm saying...As soon as WAYV is back to top two they will drop these type songs...I'll bet its killing Gary to play a Jay z track....Now you may be saying to yourself..well Kiss /Buzz has been urban for years...Gary could care less about that station...its all about WAYV...

What does this mean for WZBZ? More move back to Urban? If not they'll have the same issue when the Buzz flipped to Kiss 2 almost identical stations.

You asked them and they said they're going to turn more CHR? It's pretty rare for a station to release programming strategies.
 
well at least 95.1 got rid of those 80s weekends sounded so out of place when they went back to chr music during the week
