95.3 Jack FM in Chattanooga changes call letters

I'm curious if something is in the works for 95.3 Jack FM, the Cleveland, TN licensed station that is about to move to a new city of license in Ooltewah and gain much better coverage of Chattanooga. On 4/1/2009, the station changed its call letters from WHJK to WPLZ. The change away from the "JK" call letter may be a context clue about the future of Jack FM on that signal.

You've probably already heard by now, but Brewer is planning on launching a new News/Talk station on 95.3 when it moves into Chattanooga in the next few days. Word is that it will be called "Pulse 95.3, Chattanooga's news pulse". They already have a lineup set and are ready to go from what I understand. Also, another Brewer station (WALV Alive 105) is also moving closer to Chattanooga at the same time & is rumoured to be dropping Hot AC for sports from ESPN.

But as far as the adult/variety hits format goes, East Tennessee Radio Group just announced that they are picking up Jack FM on their Cleveland, TN station at 93.1 when Brewer drops it. They are currently classic hits "Ocoee 93.1" WOCE. They don't have as strong of a signal into Chattanooga as 95.3 did, but they do cover Cleveland well and can be heard in parts if Chattanooga.
