95.3 Joy-FM Pinellas Park

Sounds like they've got 95.3 up and running now. My stereo stopped on that frequency tonight in NE St. Petersburg. It's amazing how these guys have locked down as many "translators" or low power FMs around this market when I thought the spectrum was tapped out. All this talk a few years back that there's no room for any local low power stations and yet here they are and on the same frequency as distant Citrus 95 Hernando and Power 95.3 Orlando. Also seems awful close to 95.7 and 94.9 on the dial. Thoughts?

Translators have less restrictive rules than do regular FM stations. LPFMs have the most restrictive. You can put a translator on an adjacent freq where you could never do that with any other class of station.... Just remember, these rules have been set up by the finest politicians money can buy. Cant blame the Joy station, they are living by the rules, its just the rules like this should be fair to everyone....

They could team up with Pride furniture polish, and then your station would be your "Pride and Joy"..... Go to your room, SBE.."
