95-3 The Eagle Teasing Again

From the Eagle Facebook page:

Something is happening to 95.3FM on Monday, and radio will never be the same again. Alot of stations say this and it turns out to be nothing - but this is going to be something the other stations can't try. Sandy has details at 6:45AM and 7:45AM.

Either it's a contest or a music shift again? When will they just flip the format?

If they are flipping it geez. Nothing seems to work on that frequency

I don't think they're flipping it. First of all, the jock will be announcing it and announcing it on the hour... sounds like a contest to me.

I must not be tuned in at the right time of the hour because I don't hear Sandy in AM drive, I'm assuming she's tracking it sinhe she's doing WHIO news in the evening. If it's a music flip...make up your mind guys. Maybe they'll be The Point again

Then why would they announce it two times?

Welcome back 95-3 The Point on Monday

From their FB Page....

"Isn't "The Point" of radio to hear more music and less commercials?"

Looks like we get 953 revamped on Monday.

Obviously this is a reference to "The Point" which played 80s classic hits...previously "Oldies 95" several years ago.

FM Sports and a WHIO simulcast - uh no. Did you forget, "isn't the point to play more music and less commercials?" They could just be trying to throw all of us off. Who knows? I'm gonna have it on going to bed tonight and set my alarm for 6am to catch it all.

Gut would tell me that if it were a wholesale format change like a WHIO simulcast they wouldn't tease it on their existing page, the format would flip and that would be that. 3 signals for WHIO would be a bit much

There is really no need for another simulcast and people would be highly upset. Would be one of the stupidest format flips period. Think what formats Cox has been flipping to lately... CHR, Rhythmic, Adult Hits? Any others?

Could it be an in house thing that only Cox has going on within their group? It reads like they are saying only we at Cox can do this.

With the references they're using, it's confusing. Does The Point play jams? Not from what I remember unless they're using The Point for a different format.

The Point was used for their 80's format. I beileve they added some 90's songs recently in Tampa until it became Hot 101.5 in July.
