I absoulutly loved the format and mix of music. Reading posts on this board about "Buddy-FM" makes me come to conclusion that Buddy or a Format like it could make it in Providence.

You've stumbled on the new format for WPRO when hizzoner gets outta stir!
You just tacked on an unnecessary "-FM"...probably to protect your source.

But, shhhhhhh, don't tell anybody or some damn fool federal prosecutor will try to use the information to keep it from happening.

I wish I had the Money to start my own Radio station. I would introduce that format into Providence. Maybe it was a goof to WBRU, but I actually slept with my Radio on all night. I literally could not tune away. Now.... that is some POWERFUL Radio!

As with anything "new or unpredictable"----if the format is executed well & promoted properly, there will be always be an audience.

The "large ARB numbers" that a program director (or consultant) desires might not show up at the beginning. But there's a lot to be said for ANY radio station making an attempt to try something new?

So whether WBRU "April Fooled" us or not really doesn't matter. IT GOT OUR ATTENTION!

Isn't that what MOST radio stations are hoping to do?
