95.5 KJKB Bridgeport

Has anyone in DFW been able to receive KJKB because it is a powerhouse here in Wise County.

No, I can't and I'm over here in Northwest Dallas

With 6 kw of power broadcasting from a tower in northwest Jack Co, no one in Dallas or Tarrant Counties listens to it. Also, it has a pending application to move from Jacksboro north into the Wichita Falls market to allow KFWR 95.9 to improve its coverage to Tarrant County (changing city of license from Mineral Wells to Jacksboro, new tower off SH199 in southest Jack County).

does it have a power increase app?

Here's the current KFWR service area:
www.fcc.gov/fcc-bin/FMTV-service-area?x=FM610546.html

Compare that with their application:
www.fcc.gov/fcc-bin/FMTV-service-area?x=FM1256193.html

Remember that the coverage shown represents the estimated 60dBu signal strength; the city-grade (70dBu) coverage lies within those circles. Currently KFWR's city-grade barely includes far west Fort Worth and under the proposal downtown Fort Worth would be at the outer limit. There would be substantial improvement over northern Tarrant County, even into Denton County, but I wouldn't look for anything spectacular in Dallas County. Besides, there's that Garland translator that's also on 95.9.

Remember that translators aren't protected against full power service. The 97.5 KDKR translator in Dallas had to reduce power to reduce coverage when KLAK 97.5 moved from Durant OK to Tom Bean. The 95.9 Garland translator may be far enough away from the KFWR proposed facilities to not make changes in this case, though.
