95-5 KYOT looking for a new name

I still maintain the train wreck nature of the new KYOT is a CC Phoenix attempt to kiil it outright.

Sure hope so as KNIX HD-2 aint much of a platform for KFWhyEye. But then again, an FM Sports Parkinglot would be an improvement. Anything but Eva..reminds me of a feminine hygiene product I once found in Nurse Jeff's medicine closet

It reminds me a lot of what the former "smooth jazz" station is doing in Vegas. That station is a musical mess but it has an audience. I suspect the train wrecks are by design to make the playlist sound broader than it really is.

Of all the names that were "suggested" as 95.5's new identity, it appears that "The Valley's Old School" will be adopting the name of "Eva."

What gives this away? The fact that Clear Channel's registrations of the domains Eva955.com and EvaOn955.com - as far back in June, mind you.

The story mentioning the domain registrations now includes an "Eva 95.5" logo.

Which do you think would fare better in this market? A Rhythmic AC like KTU in New York or 93.9 Mia (Miami), or "old school" such as what KYOT (er...Eva) is attempting since Mega already exists in this market on a smaller signal?

It's funny that you mention that. I was just thinking today that with EVB and the arrival of EVA, people visiting Phoenix may think we're somewhat obsessed with EV...

Just before 10am, Melissa Sharpe announced that today was her final show on the station. She then stated that she would be back after the break (or something like that - I'm paraphrasing) to let listeners know where she was going, but that never happened. ???

On 95-5's facebook page they said be listening at 5pm today because "She's Coming!" I wonder who?? lol EVA!!

Later in the same post Melissa said that she would be going "not far" (another CC station?) and would let us know at the announcment at 5pm
