95-5 KYOT looking for a new name

I still maintain the train wreck nature of the new KYOT is a CC Phoenix attempt to kiil it outright.

Sure hope so as KNIX HD-2 aint much of a platform for KFWhyEye. But then again, an FM Sports Parkinglot would be an improvement. Anything but Eva..reminds me of a feminine hygiene product I once found in Nurse Jeff's medicine closet

K-Why-Not?

K-Whine (news/talk)

K-Whomp (sports parking lot)

K-Fizzle (going down their current path)

It reminds me a lot of what the former "smooth jazz" station is doing in Vegas. That station is a musical mess but it has an audience. I suspect the train wrecks are by design to make the playlist sound broader than it really is.

I read today on allaccess.com that they have chosen the new name EVA but listening to 95.5 no mention of EVA. hmmm strange

Question...(as others would have a better idea than I)...

Which do you think would fare better in this market? A Rhythmic AC like KTU in New York or 93.9 Mia (Miami), or "old school" such as what KYOT (er...Eva) is attempting since Mega already exists in this market on a smaller signal?

Guess the suits at 44th & Van Buren wanted EVB, but Mc12 wouldn't sell. So the next best thing: EVA ;D

It's funny that you mention that. I was just thinking today that with EVB and the arrival of EVA, people visiting Phoenix may think we're somewhat obsessed with EV...

Just odd.

Had GM not killed its electric car, Ev Mecham could draw the winning name and give away a EV-1.

Looks like later today at 5pm, 95-5 will be making a major announcement! Could that announcement be they will be EVA 95-5 as of today at 5pm??

Thus sending almost all of their male audience off to 104.3.

Either that or a major concert, like what happened to the whole CC network a couple months ago :D

...guess this must be the EVA destruction of the Coyote ;)

Just before 10am, Melissa Sharpe announced that today was her final show on the station. She then stated that she would be back after the break (or something like that - I'm paraphrasing) to let listeners know where she was going, but that never happened. ???

But Ev's dead, Jim John.

So is the EV-1.

And now I have Curtis Mayfield in my head singing Freddie's Dead for some reason.

Later in the same post Melissa said that she would be going "not far" (another CC station?) and would let us know at the announcment at 5pm

They have the EVA 95-5 website up with the new on air dj line up...former 104-7 KiSS-FM and Power 92 jock Chino will be doing morning drive voice-tracked from San Francisco. Melissa Sharpe's bio is listed on EVA's website.
