95-5 KYOT looking for a new name

The Valley's Old School. I wonder if it is going to sound like San Francisco's 98.1 KISS-FM, The Bays Old School?

Probably...and they have a pretty boring playlist too. It's such a shame that there are SO MANY songs out there from previous years that are totally ignored just so that we can have two of the same types of stations playing the same songs in one market.

kyot.com now has the header saying 'smooth jazz 95.5 kyot' and a link to a smooth jazz stream. Wonder if this is now the format of the HD2. Meanwhile, it's Eva 95.5 - The Valley's Old School vs. Mega 104.3 - Arizona's Old School. So many duplicate formats in the market, would love to see AAA get tried or a return to Pure Dance by someone :)

Yeah will def be interesting to see how the old school mix shakes down. I am still hoping that KVIB transitions to a mix of latin dance and chr/dance.

KQMR actually played Deadmau5 during their lunch mix yesterday (I think it was a lunch mix). Just checked the playlist and saw that.

Too bad they can't convince Krazy Kidd (Kidd Stevens) and Pistol Pete to join the station. Get some local vibe to the station and they would fit in with the format.

Exactly and I believe his presence would be a great addition to EVA.

Brown Eyed Girl.. I think not.. now where are my Bee Gees LOL

I still cannot get over the name Eva. I just think it is the stupidest name for a radio station. I'm not really a fan of naming a station after a person (Alice, Jack, Bob, Eva, etc). To me, it seems to lack creativity. Who the hell thought it was a brilliant idea to name it that, and how much did they get paid for doing so?? I could've done it for free...

Ya think the all new 95.5 KYOT Eva will play Brown Eyed Girl? ;)

They should play Locomotion, though. ;D

Does anyone think this station is the reason that KAJM seemingly has preety much abandoned their freestyle music from their playlist? Or am I missing something here? - Because as far as I know, there is super little to no trace of freestyle music on either station at the moment.

Also, be on the lookout for my Phoenix Chr Rhythmic / Top 40 post as well.. I just got back to Phoenix from Tucson this past Monday, and I must say that I'm rather disappointed with how things are sounding in regard to rhythmic-top 40 Phoenix (and L.A. isn't too much better either).. I guess... time for me to move to Atlanta? .. Anyway, my Phoenix CHR post entitled "What Happened?", .. coming SOON.

Is there really a huge demand for freestyle anywhere other than Miami anymore?

Is there really still such a demand for the Bee Gees in Phoenix?
