95.5 The Beat Atlanta replaced with news/talk

That really saddens me, 95.5 The Beat was a really good Rhythmic, why in the world would Cox Radio kill that off. Oh well, I'm glad it's not completely gone, I can still listen to it online. But no more Beat for Atlanta.

What I dont understand is Cox saying WSB is low-rated. How are ratings like that low!? Do they expect to pull +10 ratings!? They are not WTOP.

And Cox said they wanted to attract younger listeners, I wonder what smart person at Cox thought that by blowing up their Rhythmic, hopefully some of those Rhythmic listeners would suddenly be interested in listening to Talk and stay on that frequency. Especially when you syndicate Sean Hannity, that's just disgusting. (however, thats my personal opinion)

As for the Groove, i'm curious to see if CC will keep them Rhythmic AC or move them fully Rhythmic.

I will admit The Groove is starting to improve in the rhythmic direction, slowly, but surely. This will most likely be one of my top stations whenever I go to Atl. I notice they are jumping on the newer music a little bit faster as well. I'm just hoping they will complete the rhythmic shift and work on making their mix show programming more stimulating and upbeat to fit their "party / feel good" style they're promoting.

Hopefully, eventually music like or similar to
Auburn - La la la
Fareast Movement - Like a G6
B.O.B. - Magic
Clinton Sparks ft Jermaine Dupri -  Favorite DJ
LMFAO & Lil Jon - Shots
Pitbull - Hotel Room Service
Eminem - not afraid

will be added in to mix show (or even regular) music playlist, along with some slightly harder current mainstream hip hop hits. I also hope they hire new dj's to bring more of an upbeat, party style mix. Unlike Detroit, there is definitely room for a pop rhythmic in Atl.
