95.7 Ben-FM - did they adjust their music mix?

Maybe it's just me, or does it seem that recently 95.7 Ben-FM has tweaked their playlist a bit? I've noticed a lot more 80s music in their mix, and they've cut back on the disco. I've heard some 80s songs that I haven't heard in a while on 95.7, such as "She Blinded Me With Science", "Pop Music", & "Naughty Naughty"-John Parr. I've also noticed some rock songs that I haven't heard on Ben-FM before such as "Plush"-STP & "Dance The Night Away"-Van Halen. I believe that I read on radio-info.com that a new music director had started recently at Ben-FM. Like I said, it could just be me who thinks they've changed their focus ever so slightly.

For disco, WOGL has that market seemingly cornered. BEN add of the 80s will stave off OGL from adding more 80s. Also, with the rock titles, they're reading the PPMs and going with the way the wind blows. This is why a format like Ben, if run properly, can work.

It's interesting that they'd add the rock titles considering they own classic rock 102.9 WMGK and rocker 93.3 WMMR.

I'm glad someone mentioned this, because i was thinking that they must have done some adjusting to their music. They sound great lately. But I don't think they're just going after B101 and WOGL. I think you have to throw 106.1 in there too. I think BEN is really starting to get it together. They have a fun morning show, with people who have been around and know how to do good radio. I remember Marilyn Russell from back in the day at Y100. And Dave Cruise is hilarious. Then you throw in Jason Lee, and it's a pretty good show. But for some reason, I don't hear them after 8:00 anymore. Do they end at 8:00 now. Also, speaking of Jason Lee, he is now doing their traffic. What happened to Cheryl Ann Kennedy. Just curious if anyone knows.

Yes, the show ends at 8.

I also thought I noticed something of a shift in the music--it continues to sound very good.

After listening more, it seems that Ben-FM has dropped a lot of the 70s music, become more 80s intensive, added more rock titles (I even heard Motley Crue yesterday), and has become overall more upbeat. When I say upbeat, I don't mean rhythmic (i.e. My106.1). Just, overall, the songs are upbeat. I think the station sounds great and seems to have more flow to it.
