I just noticed the link on their website to listen to the station online.

Cool! I would MUCH rather listen to "BEN" than "JACK" any day! And NO I AM NOT a disgruntled CBS-FM Listener. I just enjoy "BEN's" presentation better than "JACK's." Plus "BEN" has jingles and overall better Imaging. Greater Media should be commended in my opinion...atleast THEY made their format flip into something successful!

Tip of the Hat Guys @ GM!!

I haven't listened to Ben much, but the few times I did, they played a great music variety. It's different from Jack and the presentation is interesting. It would be better if there were jocks though.
______________

I agree 100%. I like the fact that Ben-FM uses jingles. The only other variety hits stations I've listened to have been 101.1 Jack-FM/New York, 93.7 Mike-FM/Boston, 102.7 Jack-FM/Baltimore, and Sam 106.5/Pocomoke, MD, and I must say, Ben-FM's imaging is much better than I've heard on any of these stations. The voice of Jack-FM, in my opinion, sounds boring.

Again though that is the whole premise of "Jack/Ben/Bob/Paul..." Jockless Radio with an enormous emphasis on Variety without the chatter!

AND not to mention incredibly ANNOYING!!!! Take note Infinity!! Just out of curiosity are the folks in Baltimore as hung-up at the loss of WQSR as New Yorkers are with CBS-FM's demise???

Evidently not. Baltimore's Jack-FM is getting about the same ratings as Oldies WQSR was. New York is the only city where a backlash has resulted in the format completely tanking.

Yeah, but after a while, the presentation without jocks will get boring. Plus jocks will be added eventually, or so I think.
______________

If they can swing decent ratings (and in the case of "BEN" anything was better than what they were pulling in...) I'm thinking the "Jockless Presentation" will stick, atleast in terms of "BEN." Our dear friend "Jack" on the other hand is a WHOLE different issue of an in itself.

In a nutshell...BEN over JACK ANYYYYYYYYYY DAY!!!!

Agreed. He's also on 98.7 The Peak KPKX/Phoenix.

It seems a while back, every station was streaming, then came the per spin fees, then it seemed like nobody was streaming. Now, stations are slowly coming back to the streaming side. Can anybody tell me the backstory? Was it just the legalities which have shaken themselves out now?
