95.7 KISS FM Ratings?

Does anyone know if the new KOGO-FM station is working? I haven't seen the numbers since it was all Xmas music. When it launched I thought for sure it wouldn't last long. Majic 92.5 is such a niche format it's like trying to have two dance stations or two Classic Hip Hop stations in one market. Does anyone know which Rythmic oldies station will win? I can't see both these stations staying on the air... But I could be wrong. Weirder things have happened in San Diego radio.

The January book, for 1/3 to 1/31, comes out Tuesday.

My guess is that the first month will have about a 1.4 to 1.5 in 12+.

Are they still jockless? Punch them up every now and then but just sounds like an Ipod playlist...not much stationality.

Yes they are still jockless and you can expect the same jocks from KHHT, KISQ, and KHYL to voicetrack their shows on the station. CC might hire 2 or 3 jocks to give it a local feel.

On Clearcareers.com they have 2 postings for on-air positions!! So all of those put out of work by automation better get those air checks and resumes in!

That's the lowest that station's every been! Great prediction. Wonder what's next for the new KISS-FM... They would've done better being a 2nd Top 40 station in the cluster. :-\

So question here. I see that KGB is killing it again in ratings, and hear the morning show of Bob & Coe seems to really be building bigtime. So what numbskull nominated Bob B. for radio personality of the year and didn't include his co-host Coe? Yeah, he is great for sure, but.where is her name? It's like Jagger and not Christie. Huh? She is the backbone there at KGB. If Clear Channel nominated ONLY him and did it this way, they ought to have their heads examined. HOW do you leave out the half that makes him excel and the half of the success of their show. What am I missing? Why one and not both. Talk about a morale breaker for a deejay. Really, does anyone know how that works? If I were Coe, I would seriously be disappointed if my company had anything to do with that. I DON'T know that for a fact, but just an observation hoping that they just aren't that clueless. That could really make someone feel crappy, not to mention awkward. But most of us know she would be amazing and cool. Wow, please tell me someone within Clear Channel wouldn't do something that dreadful. Also, how are Dave, Shelley, The show on Rock and all doing? Who is building and who is fading? I have been a little out of the loop. Would love some feedback. IMHO. thanks

I'm hearing Justin Timberlake on 95.7...

Looks like their going the Rhythmic AC route now. Knowing Clear Channel this phase wont last since it was tired at KISQ. I have a feeling they might tweak it to Rhythmic CHR in the future.

It would make sense going after Blazin 98-9 and the old Z90's audience that have been left without a station since everyone is Top 40 now. Why would 95.7 go after a format that Magic already covers when they can have their own in the market? (I know... I know... Because of Channel 9-3-3's ratings...)

I presume that Clear Channel did not introduce the Rhythmic Oldies format to 95.7 with any intention of it beating 92.5 head to head. 92.5 is a superior station in virtually every way imaginable.

But if 95.7 can steal enough listeners from the non-Clear Channel stations at the top of the ratings, it will be considered a success.

Lots of Rihanna, Flo-Rida, Usher, etc. in the playlist now. Also throwing in more 90's stuff such as Will Smith, Nelly, etc. Definitely a Rhythmic AC now, and gravitating away from 92.5's music position.

My radio last night displayed KSSX when I tuned to 95.7 but it looks like KOGO-FM is still registered in the radio-locator database. But perhaps these are the calls they are hoping to get? Still think KUSS would be good calls for a KISS FM (Better than KSSX)

I'm surprised they didn't apply for KSDO FM, since that was the old KS-103 (the old KIIS FM sister station from the 80s). And if you've followed the migration of studios, that would have made sense to me, but whatever.

Call letters have become pretty much irrelevant in recent decades and even more so with PPM. When Jammin Z-90 was sitting on top of the ratings I'm sure 99.9 percent of listeners could not have told you what it's call letter were.

Garrett the studios that 95.7 are in were the studios for 690, not KSDO! The current KLSD/1360 studios were the original 1130 KSDO studios at the Granite Ridge facility!

Plus the KSDO call letters were not retained by CC, they only kept the transmitter site.
