Sadly, this is not an isolated incident, but again, corporate doesn't care as long as there's a profit margin, and when there isn't, the tendency is to cut costs rather than spend on improvements.

I think it's an over-statement to say "they don't care"-- they do, because, in the end, if the product isn't compelling and entertaining, it won't be profitable.

Those running radio have (since consolidation) run it more like most any business. It's just a sign of the times but great radio can still happen because it isn't the job of the heads of Cox, Clear Channel, CBS, etc., to have their hands in the creative and entertainment end of the biz. That is (and should be) up to the individual Market Managers and Programmers.
