95.7 Nona.FM

Just discovered a new station that's playing a mix of songs from the 70's -2k's, mostly 80's though during the time I was listening. Kept missing the legal ID though. The station was previously a Spanish music format. The calls are WNKQ-LP serving the Lake Nona area with a whopping 12 watts. According to the FCC database & Radio-locator they have a CP to go 22 watts albeit at a lower height on the same tower (they may have already gone to that). My guess for that would be for better building penetration, for the maps don't show any significant coverage area increase. They are coming in somewhat decent at my place which is around the corner from Universal Studios.

Recently heard this one. At first thought it was real DX. LOL This will be a radio benchmark signal for now.

I guess 22 watts and little to no listeners doesn't get you very far. 95.7 has gone back to Musica en Espanol.

I'm not sure, but I picked up a Metal/Rock station on 95.7FM just once coming from Winter Park one Friday night. I looked on Radio-Locator, & it might be the LPFM in Christmas, since the signal faded out as I was going west. I enjoyed it while it lasted. It was battling with "The Hog" from Daytona as the signal faded out, so I ruled out that Classic Rock station. This 95.7FM was pure Metal.
