95.9 flips to Christmas

Like they are saying on that FoxNews promo that is running now... Does it matter? HI-99 is number 1 and has been forever. Mix is #2 and has been forever. Everyone else has been forgotten and since they don't promote anything they do outside of their own air no one knows what they are doing.

the last time midwest did anything they dropped country on the Paris stick and picked up talk and now the ratings are no better than they were before.

Might they have heard a rumor that WBOW would be jingling bells soon, and wanted to get "The Christmas Station" title in Terre Haute?

No, crossroads likes what they have on 102.7 and is probably breathing a sigh of relief that 95.9 won't be hurting waxi any longer.

Lots of AC stations go all-Christmas and then go back to their normal format in January. I wasn't suggesting that WBOW was going to spin the wheel of formats in the new year.

This early? I know others have also switched to Christmas, but in most cases doen't this usually mean a change is gonna come? I guess we will find out in a few weeks.

Also don't forget that XMAS music typically does well ratings wise, and can give you a quick $$$ boost in 4th quarter. For what 95.9 is and has done, I wouldn't be surprised to see it come back as is... or maybe just a tweaked version.

They might get a little bump in the numbers but IMO it won't do them any good.

First, do they buy the book?  I don't think they do.  So they can't go around showing numbers.

Two.  The agencies know that a "Christmas bump" doesn't mean anything when you put away the chestnuts so they look at the numbers that don't exist before and after.

The only hope they would have is to get a couple "dollar a holler" locals on that you might not have otherwise.  That will only be for a couple of weeks right before Christmas.

What they had on wasn't bad but no one really knew it was there. Until they change that little problem then they will be an "also ran".

Just saw the article that appeared in Saturday's Tribune-Star that Midwest plans to continue the format that was on 95.9 just before flipping to Christmas.
