From a little over a week ago, this from All Access:
"The FCC has rejected LKCM RADIO LICENSES, L.P.'s response to an Order to Show Cause and is involuntarily modifying LKCM's Country KFWR (95.9 THE RANCH)/JACKSBORO, TX to require directional operation and a decrease from a transmitter output of 25 kw to 9.1 kw to maintain Class C0 status. The station had been granted an upgrade from Class C1 to C0 and a move from MINERAL WELLS to JACKSBORO, but LAKE COUNTRY RADIO Class A Country KCKL/MALAKOFF, TX complained that the KFWR antenna had been sidemounted to throw up to 262.4 kw horizontal, 274.5 kw vertical in KCKL's direction (and towards DALLAS-FORT WORTH). LKCM said that the Commission had never addressed sidemounting of non-directional antennae before, that no antenna is truly omnidirectional, and that the matter should properly be addressed in a notice of proposed rulemaking. But the Commission responded that the violations in this case were extreme and the matter can easily be controlled by the licensee by reducing transmitter output."
From yesterday, posted by RadioInsight: KFWR Fighting back
"A week after the FCC issued a Show Cause Order to reclassify LKCM Radio’s “95.9 The Ranch” KFWR Jacksboro, TX as operating with a directional array, the station applies to have it switched back to non-directional with the installation of a stock antenna at the currently licensed power and height."
