indeed. he's an excellent broadcaster, unlike most of the stumblin', bumblin' ex-jocks they have doing sports these days. i'll take a pure announcer anyday, and tolly also had the love of the games that made him a real presence. i'm sure someone local will pick him up -- if they have the scratch. 
How can a major market like philly, allow the network to mandate them to play the worst show ESPN carries. Tirico was 1) a HORRIBLE decsion by ESPN and 2) a horrific choice to be the one show they make 950 take.
If 950 wants to compete for real, they need to get Jody and Mike Miss partners, they are to stale alone, but credisble in the Philly market. If you pair them up with new, young talent, you instantly make the younger guy credible.
Mike is bringing on his producer WAY to much, come on Mike you are better then that and deserve a much better "partner" not some clown producer who stutters everytime he cracks the mic. As for Jody, sounds like he has mailed it in, will he even be there for Eagles football....
But the first priority is bagging Tirico, I cant imagine a top 10 market can be told they have to carry a bad show.
Here is what I would like to see:
Mike and Mike go 6-9
Jody Mac and a younger "Philly" guy 9-12
Grab a WIP weekender, like Paul J, B Star and pair them with a younger guy from 12-3
Mike Miss and a younger guy from 3-7
Locker Room 7-10
new show maybe with former 950 guys like Yannacone and Harbaugh from 10-2
Got to start going live all day on the weekends, keep Tolly there, with Jack Mac, during the seasons, pair up a younger host on weekends with a newspaper guy for weekend credibility.
I just am so tired of WIP and wish that 950 would do it right, not just half right.
Is anyone else tired and amazed that Ike Reese is on the air in Philly when there is so much talent out there. I like Macnow, but I like him alone....Gargano...ugh, your from Washington Twp buddy, not South Philly...lose the act.

I don't think it's the only show WPEN is mandated to carry per se; they actually have to carry a certain number of hours of network programming per day. WPEN, of course, runs Mike & Mike in the Morning.

he made the mistake of many in the business with big egos...he went against the company by wanting to go on the air early to say good-bye to huddleston, and fought with the new news director, thinking they weren't going to do anything to him....well it's their station and they can do what they want....
