950 with music?

I caught an old "American Top 40" from May, 1978 last night on KPRC. Reruns of Casey's show are run on oldies stations in other places. So it's good to have it on 950. Probably better than anything else they have ;D

AT40 is about the only thing I listen to on KPRC, except for "Garf" sometimes. One thing I do not understand why do they (Clear Channel Houston) have that show on their narrow band audio AM station when
they have FM stations in the marketplace to put it on. I think it would be a "perfect fit" for KODA 99.1. They should at least put it on one of the HD channels of one of their FM outlets.

Old Chicago

AT40 is on the AM stations to remind us of the glory days of radio when it was still relevant. That, and the inferior sound quality and static.

AT 40 is not the only music that KPRC plays. When they need to fill the overnight hours they play a song or two in between Mancow reruns and the guns & ammo show. They played "Eastbound and Down" by Jerry Reed Sunday morning about 3am. First time I've heard country on KPRC in many years. It's usually a spin of Stones, Zeppelin, etc. when they do play music.

Give a hat-tip to our Chuck Tiller over at 1070. Not only is he live-jocking Bill Bennett's variable-length network breaks, at 5:20am most every morning he spins an oldie, complete with discussion about it. Nicely breaks up the network.

I checked Yes.com and while KPRC/950 doesn't have their own page, there are five other stations on the 950 frequency across the country that have their own.
