That's why they don't hold a cp to move the 92.1 stick...they don't need to now. 96.1 + 92.1 = full coverage. Wonder what 103.3 will be....maybe country to go after bob?
______________

So, it sounds like you are saying they'll blow up that horrible 92.1 for a simulcast of WSOX??? I hope that's true.

As far as 103.3? If anything, 103.3 insert Jack ripoff (hoo hoo!!) name here.
______________

Instead of "Jack" - 'Stolzfus 103.3' - with Raymond the Amish Comic mornings!

Wait, am I missing something here? You folks are expecting Cumulus to kill a heritage AC station that always is a top performer in the ratings? (WARM-FM).

WINK is a Hot A/C..it's not a performer in York or Lancaster. WARM does need some re tooling...it's fallen on some Hard times with arrival of the Peak and a better performance by the Rose in Lancaster. WARM has been hit by a double whammy......#1...the "mysterious" disappearance of Kelly West....and #2 the Peak. Both events happening within a year. If WARM disappears, then the Rose will become the A/C "at work" station for York. Too much money in those demos for that to happen.

> > It conflicts with Wink.

I don't see how WARM conflicts with Wink. WARM is in the York market. Wink is in the Harrisburg market. WARM is A/C. Wink is Hot A/C.

WARM "is" sounding a little tired as of late, but I don't think that means it's time to end its life. "The Rose" has been making their station more creative and fun lately (like their "Whatever Weekends" for example), so perhaps WARM should look into things like that rather than risk ending the format totally.

WARM 103 is a freakin' cash register. Cumulus doesn't buy those radio stations and kill that one. If they'd do anything, I'm sure they'd look at WSOX. I mean, does anyone really know what Oldies are anymore? Playing Eddie Money and artists like that seems that somebody's freaked out about WYCR's ratings, and they should be. WYCR is doing great.

Cumulus and Party Ron are smart business people. When the time comes, they'll have a game plan ready.

Ya don't kill cash cows!

No way Cumulus messes significantly with WARM, at this point. Last time we looked, this was commercial radio, right? All about CASH FLOW. While WARM's recent downtrend will no doubt be the focus of some serious analysis, don't look for major surgery (that is, "format change") anytime in the next year or two. In most markets, AC is still the preferred position to occupy if one has one's choice... if money is the object. Nobody voluntarily just walks away from that kind of ching. Not even Cumulus.

Wink was on top for 15 years. It was a cash cow. They messed with it.

That's why I feel this way.
______________

People kill cash cows all the time. Look at the old Z-107 when Citadel ruined it. Enough said.

This Cash Cow is still mooing!

Yeah, but Z-107 was a shadow of its former self when the axe fell. WARM is just one book out of second place (12+)... and less than two shares out of first. I'm not a York Arbitron subscriber, but I'm guessing their A25-54 & W25-54 numbers are solid. And, as much as mainstream AC bores the hell out of us in radio, it's a great position to sell from.

Here's the critical question: Who is out-billing WARM in York? (My guess: nobody). And whose selling position would you trade WARM's for? (Nobody).

'Nuff said.

WARM/WSBA/WSOX

Just remember that everything in print right now is all SPECULATION. No one (except for a couple of suits) knows exactly how the negotiations are going.

Anyone who has ever gone through a station sale knows that "outside information" can be very unreliable. Sure it is fun to speculate and that's why we have boards and online news briefs that do just that.

Will Susquehanna be sold by this week? Kinda doubt it since Monday was a bank holiday and they have to play catch up on business.

Don't count anyone out at the point. There is always a two out home run to win the game or a hail Mary pass to win the game.

Format changes

WARM will be changing its format to Cool Rap, Jazz and Classic Country.

WSBA will be broadcasting Mimes with a Message

WSOX will be changing its format to Self Help Radio with music from John Tesh, Kenny G, Celine Dion, Michael Bolton, Michael Jackson and the Star Wars soundtracks.

FINALLY! Someone who understands the market!
BTW, if Citadel had a clue, they'd have Kelly West and Rick Sten on AM drive and a LOT of billboards in York---their music sounds like WARM of 2 years ago, and WARM's vulnerable at the moment.

Well.....you hit it on the head. If Citadel had a clue. Nothing like building a new station with a washed up rock jock in morning drive.
