96.1 FM Campo (move in)

I wonder if they can negociate with other frequencies and the Mexican SCT to move 96.1 signal into 98.9 and move 98.5 XHMore into 98.5 or move 106.5 KLNV to 106.1 and relocate 96.1 to 106.9 frequency.

Without even considering the possible engineering aspects of what you suggest, the monetary consideration of getting all of this done would be enormous. You could by Lincoln Pilot Financial for less.

That station was a flop. Not sure what they were thinking... Even if they are still planning on a repeater on San Miguel, they should've waited to launch until the station could be heard in San Diego.

Got that right..KSIQ should have stayed in El Centro..

Anyone know if they're still broadcasting? I drive through East County every day and have never gotten a clear signal on 96.1...

There was currently dead air and Q96 has yet to launch until the booster is operational. Looks like they have a signal on for the legalities.

You know, CBS Radio should've have done a new CHR themselves instead of some small independent company. Flip Sophie to CHR and make it 103.7 AMP Radio or 103.7 Now FM. CBS actually knows how to make a top 40 station!

No, Sophie is the best Hot AC San Diego has (and all of SoCal in my opinion). Star's the one that has to go.

Based on what analysis?
What criteria are you using to qualify it as "the best Hot AC?"

Drove all over the freeways, up and down I-805, I-5, etc. The only spots I could get KSIQ as far as I know was in Rancho PQ and the western part of Santee, both very faint. The format is a top 40 type.

KSIQ had been repeating what seemed to be a 1 hour CD's of music a w/ID"s sporadically since they first threw on the exciter. Audio quality
sounded like a teens' pirate station. This last week however, full range audio with Q96's signature boosted bass was heard. What does this mean?
Well, instead of feeding earphone level output of the CD player to the XLR/BNC exciter inputs (very bad impedance mismatch) it indicates the audio
processor/limiter is operational. One step closer... But they had the stereo pilot off today..
The Monday after Brawley went dark, the Mexicali 98.3 , which used to be oldies, is now replicating Q96's format. The bass is so boosted, that the
lower and upper adjadcents(98.1 & 98.5 ) are being hammered with unusual bass modulation artifacts. But it's in Mexico...

Why does KSIQ sound so hammered???also,if they are broadcasting 25,000 watts, why cant we hear them??Los Angeles stations come in better than KSIQ..Very sad..

I went to Glamis this weekend and tried testing 96.1. Either the station was off the air or it doesn't reach Imperial County anymore. All I heard was some buzzing sounds on that frequency like they were testing near Coachella for a bit.

I don't understand why they moved either. They had a 50,000 watt signal in Brawley that could be heard in Palm Springs, Blythe and I even picked them up in the IE before 96.1 from San Jacinto signed on. It was probably the most powerful station in the Imperial Valley. I guess they were losing money or felt they can do better in SD. I found another station from Mexicali "Power 98" that filled the CHR void left by Q96

Unusual...
KSIQ has had both Brawley and Campo(with exciter power) sites on this weekend. The Valley site with music programming. Campo
with open carrier and digital garbage, yesterday, probably trying to get the STL up. Almost 2 months, and counting.
