96.1 KXY Christmas?

It appears classic country 96.1 KXY is playing an AC-Christmas format for the holiday season. It seems a little odd for a classic country format to go AC-Christmas. When K-Bull did it in the early '00s, it would a country Christmas format if I remember correctly. Could this be a sign of changes to that station after the holidays?

Interesting thought... they may just be after quick, easy ratings jump. Time will tell. If they do flip, Tyler just freed up some excellent talent.

I can't imagine a flip. KXY has been country for 30 years...I think Classic Country is the perfect fit for them. But...this is a business.

Agreed. This would be an excellent time for Clear Channel to try its hand again at AC considering what Tyler is doing with KMGL. Back in the early 2000s I preferred 94.7 KQSR over KMGL. KYIS is sounding more CHR than ever so it could work.

OKC currently has two classic country stations KXXY and KKNG. I understand this is Oklahoma but does anybody think that in addition to the three regular country stations is a bit overkill?
