96.1 THE PIG ?

good radio station for programmers. not so much with advertisers.. Obviously what they were doing on that frequency was not making any significant cash, so why not try something else.

What were they doing on that frequency other than serving as an overflow channel for football and basketball games for WHBQ AM?

brokered mexican adult format.. maybe like what you would call Amor in some markets.
just my guess but it seemed like love songs at the least.

Here's my two cents worth...I drive about 230 miles per day on the job ...mostly in the southern half of East Arkansas. Once I get out of Jonesboro and about 40 miles south I start listening to the Pig. I really like the music mix...they're playing a lot of classic rock, blues and such that you never hear on any other station. So, I'm hoping they can continue to grow...the Pig rules! Dennis Rogers

Ah yes, The Purple Church that used to be at Mount Moriah and American Way, until the government shut it down. A shame, too, it was one of our largest tourist attractions!

I ran into the famous professional wrestler Austin Idol there years ago. However, it was not a "giggle joint" at the time.....it was The Loft restaurant.

Ha! LittleBig!
I said "Jiggle Joint" in reference to Platinum Plus.
"Giggle Joint" would be more along the lines of the place on Highland with the "Largest Urinal in the World"- and a place where we parked at the Goodwill/Red Cross parking lot-because WHY?!?!?!?!
Any body remember "Sir-Laffs-A-Lot" and Dennis whathisface making fun of the poor?
Those were the days my friend....

Surely you're not referring to the "Cool" former major tv and world renown author, are you??? ::)

I know he worked (works?) for 103 or something...but for the life of me I cannot recall his last name.
Dennis...? He was kinda funny as host of the club."F the poor" ...(it was funny at the time.)
DeYoung? No...."The Menace?" No...Dang!
Seriously...help a brother out. Is he still around?

NEVERMIND! Just talked to an old buddy and he reminded me. It's Philippe (sp)
Sounds like it...but he still didn't know if he was still on 103. Me neither.

Not to nit-pick or anything...but it's Phillipi.....and no, not at 103 anymore.

......as far as giggle joint as opposed top jiggle joint, I gust jot my g's and j's confused. I'll take a "jiggle" over a "giggle" anyday assuming the "jiggle" comes from someone pleasing to the eye.
