96.1 W241CG Southington Kool Radio

Does anyone know if Full Power Radio has been doing engineer work with their 96.1 W241CG the translator for WNTY 990 over the past few weeks?

I noticed two days in a row they were completely off the air for a few hours a couple of weeks back. I was picking up staticy reception of WJVC My Country 96.1 from Long Island on Queen Street in Southington.

I've also noticed for the past week or so the signal of W241CG is weaker than normal in some areas where in the past the signal has been crystal clear. I didn't think to check 990-AM those days I heard 96.1 FM was off the air.

The truth of the matter is I rarely listen to AM radio any more. The notable exception was when I was out running errands on Sunday the 5th and I tuned into Kool Radio via WACM 1270 AM out of Springfield since 96.1/990 run Italian Programming on Sunday.

Don't know if they have been doing work on the translator because I'm not in the terrestrial Radio area, but I was unable to receive via Alexa various times over the past months. When I ask Alexa to enable KoolRadio, she says, "OK, Here's KoolRadio, the Greatest Hits of the 60's, 70's & 80's", & then, there's no audio. When I log on to KoolOldiesRadio.net, & click on Listen Live, there's no audio. I called CE Chief Engineer Scott Baron at (860) 243-1115 & left a msg., & also called SurferNetwork in NJ at (973) 691-7420. They said the wrong input was selected, then Kool audio was back online!

One thing I've noticed about Kool Radio is that the 104.3 version in the New London area definitely plays more commercials per hour than the 96.1 version in Southington does. 104.3 airs an ad for Central Auto Group pretty much every single hour and sometimes plays three or four commercials before they get back to the music whereas on 96.1 it's usually just one or two before the music resumes. If the two stations are airing basically the same music programming then 104.3 must cut out a song or two per hour that 96.1 would play in order to fit in more commercials.
