Is 96.3 Jack FM continuing to hurt AC Mix 92.9? Is Jack leaning more AC or have they changed their pace to something else and will compete with another station? I just know that Mix is hurting cuz of Jack.

As someone who listens to 96.3 Jack-FM at least 4 or 5 hours per day, they have made no shift one way or the other since signing on.

I don't think they really care that Mix 92.9 is impacted because it just goes from one pocket to the other. Had South Central not created Jack here, someone else would have done it and it would have gone into someone else's pocket.

I agree. I normally have Jack on from 10AM-4PM and I've noticed no real change.

Jack might be hurting 92.9 in some ways, but our reception area tried to switch for one day to Jack and they flipped back to 92.9 because it was just not soft enough and/or bland enough. I was a frequent flipper until Jack came on the scene. 92.9 just put me to sleep so I never listened to them at work. I used to flip between Oldies, 97.9 and The Rock.

No matter how you look at it, it's still a win for South Central. With the holidays coming (even without going to all Christmas), 92.9 will rebound and that's just going to hurt everyone else.

At night, Jack-FM leans more toward rock. Last night, for example, Jack-FM played "On the Loose"-Saga, "Dangerous Type"-the Cars, "Stone Cold"-Rainbow and "Back in Black"-AC/DC, four songs that Mix 92.9 would never play under their current format.

Those play during the day too. I listen at work and most days will have Jack on from around 4 or 5 pm until about 11pm. But I know I have heard those songs during the morning/middays too.

The situation in Nashville is interesting. South Central kills oldies station for hot format Jack and does well with it. Cumulus restarts the format and does well with it. Its a win win situation. I'm sure Mix will bounce back up. It was just a bad ratings period.<P ID="signature">______________

I don't get to listen to Jack-FM during the day because I can't pick up the signal where my workplace is located. As far as "On the Losse"-Saga and "stone Cold"-Rainbow, when I heard those two songs on Thursday night, it was the first time I had heard either song in at least 5 or 6 years and I had not heard "Dangerous Type"-the Cars played on the radio in several years, either. My point was not that Jack-FM only plays those songs at night, it was Mix 92.9 would never play those songs under their current format.
