univision radio is known for doing silly things, but this time they went too far. they have a stronger new frecuency but dont have any dj, no afternoon show, and they got rid of frederick martinez el pacha whose saturday morning show " el pachatazo" had the highest numbers on saturday moning, and was an every day disc jockey on la kalle with his other show " el aranazo" ...coco cabrera is also gone... why would you get rid of these guys, after all they done for that radio station.. their only worries since to be luis jimenez, but luis had the worse numbers on la kalle with his morning show... why would you do something so silly like that?

chill, every new station there is a time period where there is no jocks, they will probably be back later

univision radio threw 5 million at " luis jimenez show" and its been at disaster...now they're trying to make people like him so bad that there's nobody at the 96.3, its luis jimenez frecuency.. how big is this guy to let everyone go! its sick to my stomach! he was a dissaster on la kalle 105.9 having the lowest numbers ever, on now univision think he's their savior? give me a break! univision had a chance to finally catch la mega 97.9 their long time rivals but getting rid of: el pacha, coco cabrera, nelly carrion etc....... its already over! R.I.P 96.3!

We all want El Pachatazo to be on air again every Saturday, I really missing it. Saturdays are not the same any more, all questions here in NYC are about, where is El Pacha?

Why don't you ask him, instead of annoying us here about something nobody else cares about?

I notice all these posters have less than a dozen posts... it's like they registered just to defend themselves... er, to defend that personality.

maybe we should ask david eduardo: are you happy now mr. eduardo? you finally have what you always wanted: getting rid of el pacha after having 0.9 rattings on saturdays morning! you finally destroyed el pachatazo, the highest show on saturdays morning from 10am - 4 pm. el pacha must be gone, but we dominicans will not listen to your 96.3! you hate us because we got talent? you sick!

David I just listen to El Pacha on the radio, (No lo conosco) I don't know Him in person
I am member of the board since Jan 2004, I'm not coming here to defend nobody, I just said my opinion on what I hear on the street.

moreno, relax man...univision will bring djs and locutores back...they haven't said wich djs or locutores will come back...but very soon you will have people in the station...they are getting ready to launch their new format...do you really think x96.3 will only have a "music only format"? come on...

they're not coming back! they already said it.. it's music " mezcla" 24/7! they want everyone to focus, eat luis jimenez show at any price... everyone is gone but the lord "luis" still there, even after having the worse numers on new york city he's treated like a king waooooo! only univision radio! el pachatazo had the highest numbers on saturday morning and by getting rid of " el pacha" that show will no longer exist! do you know mr. eduardo? he's an anti -dominican man! he hates merengue, hates dominican dj's....ask him why, i know why...but and gonna let him said it : go ahead mr.eduardo, say it!

I suppose that the fact that his wife is Dominican supports that statement. Not.

he hates merengue,

His show plays no music. And DJs don't program the musci, the PD does.

hates dominican dj's

Proof? There is none, and in any case, a morning show does not hire the DJs for the rest of the day. Please learn more about radio, man.

go ahead mr.eduardo, say it!

It.

very smart uhh? im not talking about luis jimenez! im talking about you! why did you got rid of el pacha after having the best numbers on saturday morning, after noon? luis jimenez had the worse numbers on la kallle 105.9, how come he still there and the others dont? are you in love with luis or what? uh, your trying to show people you did a good job when you push univision radio to sign luis and it was their biggest mistake ever! you think having only him there is gonna help? nobody likes his show dude, get it? radio wado 1280 am had better numbers than him get it? you know that if you put " el pacha" there on the afternoon he will have better numbers than everyone there and you gonna luck silly!

Yeah, you think the creator of El Gobierno de la Mañana hates Dominicans and merengues.... that makes no sense at all.

Check with Willy and Marino and get back to me... otherwise, quit trying to make programming decisons into ethnic, racial or national issues.

And, for your information, as much as I would like to take credit for the excellent launch of X 95.3, there is a whole team in NY who put this together and they are the players on this field... I'm just a bystander.

IMHO, Luis Jiminez was only known and hot on El Vacilon. As soon as Luis left La Mega, his radio career just went downhill. Regarding X, maybe it's because I'm an internet radio guy, but I like X the way it is now, minus the luis jiminez show, non-stop music 24/7.

In the areas and ZIPs where WCAA had a parity signal (over 64 dbu) with WSKQ, the Luis Jimenez Show beat the other station in morning quite consistently. The issue there was signal.

They need to clean house there other than the morning show. Their music is "all over the place". I hear male arist after male, after male after male... No new music. It's stale and still tired. It has potential and the best thing they did was get rid of someone that just loves hearing himself. All he did was talk... talk and talk about things noone cares about plus he was the most "un-natural" sounding jock I ever heard. The vomit puking voice was his only strength as a jock. Noone cares that he's gone. Lets only hope he doesn't resurface.

Soooooooo....it's ok for 105.9 to have crappy ratings and for 105.9 to have a bad signal, but it's a disaster for Pulse 87 to have low ratings and not say it's the signal or even the dial position. You know, 105.9's signal covers twice as much the area compared to Pulse and it's ok to say that La Kalle had a bad signal therefore caused their ratings to slide, but Pulse 87 is a disaster, and they are doing bad, but when we say they have a limited signal, their position on the dial is at the bottom, and the station was "word of mouth", oh no, thats not why Pulse is doing bad. So you expect me to believe that La Kalle was suffering when they had a better coverage area than Pulse? I think what made La Kalle better was to keep it 100% Raggaeton and/or if you wanted Luis Jiminez, at least try to have El Vacilon on La Kalle.

Pulse is a general market station, while WCAA was a Spanish language station, limited to those people in the signal area who are Spanish dominant. that's enough differences to call the "apples and oranges" card and say that this is an irrelevant comparison.

and they are doing bad, but when we say they have a limited signal, their position on the dial is at the bottom, and the station was "word of mouth", oh no, thats not why Pulse is doing bad.

Pulse did badly like every other dance station in the US. A period, generally less than a year, of interesting performance, and then a decline that terminates in extinction. The fact that a good signal, like Party in Miami, exhibited this pattern should show that signal is irrelevant... the format is the issue.

So you expect me to believe that La Kalle was suffering when they had a better coverage area than Pulse?

The Kalle 64 dbu had far fewer Spanish dominant Hispanics in it than the 64 dbu of Pulse has English speakers or bilinguals... yet Kalle beat Pulse consistently.

I think what made La Kalle better was to keep it 100% Raggaeton and/or if you wanted Luis Jiminez, at least try to have El Vacilon on La Kalle.

Huh? Reggaetón moved on, and is no longer a format anywhere on the US mainland... and "Vacilón" is a trademark of WSKQ, even though Luis brought the name... the show is Luis, not the name of the show. Luis is on X 96.3.
