96.5 air talent?

Look I know this is going to come out mean spirited but I don't mean it to. I have a to ask how is Kannon with a K on the air let alone Afternoon Drive?!? I know the days of having a great radio voice are over but WTF. His voice is squeeky and often sounds like its cracking when he speaks...It makes him sound kind of nerdy...in the Rythmic CHR I would think you would want a cool larger than life sound.... IDK he seems nice and he does a good job as MD but I absolutley can not believe he is still on the air...Q102 just beat them in the rating a sec ond time...could this be a factor??
I'm not saying he shouldn't be on the air at all but Philly Drive Time...really?

Equally astonishing is the fact that Wired 96.5's Program Director is also WXTU's Program Director. Country and Rhythmic CHR are about as OPPOSITE as formats can get.....so how does the same dude (Leo Baldwin) find success in both? He doesn't.

Meanwhile, Kannon and Leo are both enjoying working full time and enjoying what they do instead of waxing on this thread. That's why you 2 dweebs are playing with yourselves.

Dude ...this board is for fact and opinion...obviously you like Kannon or work for Wired...cool. Do you honestly think Kannon belongs on drive-time in a major market? I don't ... I wanted to know what other posters thought...even what you thought...so when you have a free hand from your "waxing" post again.

Have heard him, and don't see why he wouldn't "belong" there. Like it? Nope. Hate the entire format (kids in the car, being a good chauffeur...), but it seems to be it's up to what the audience likes, and that doesn't mean 1965 Boss Jocks. Tastes change, so he may have a limited shelf life just like everyone else, but maybe being a 'real' sounding person is what works (nerdy or not).

He must be good at what he does and more than one person must like him, because, if I recall correctly, he almost left Wired a few years back to go be MD and afternoons at the Rhythmic CHR in Chicago, which is 5 markets larger than Philly. I think he changed his mind or got a new deal in the 11th hour or something...

He may be a fantastic MD/APD but on the air I just don't get it....Maybe he is fantastic at the other "hats" he wears
