96.7 in Valdosta

I just noticed that the new owners of 96.7 WGOV have just changed the call letters to WLYX. Has WGOV gone back to only AM or did 96.7 change formats.

Well, that move came as a big surprise. Apparently, there weren't enough listeners that switched over to WGOV-FM, so they made the format change on 96.7. Or, maybe the AM might switch to an urban gospel format. Who knows?

Valdosta already has a full time urban gospel outlet 5,000 watt AM 1150 WJEM.Valdosta currently has 5 stations doing some type of full time urban programing.

Last time I checked, WJEM wasn't listed, either in Radio-Locator, or on the FCC database. WJEM might have had its license revoked due to being off the air for more than a year. Does anybody know?

WJEM is on the air,listened this morning.96.7 FM and 950 AM are going by Magic 95 on liners and live on air.

WJEM may still be on, but they've done something wrong...the license has been deleted.

If that's the case, why is WJEM still on the air? Apparently someone at the FCC forgot to tell the management at WJEM that this station is not supposed to be on the air anymore.

Which station in Valdosta is full time Urban? I know Urban AC is atleast on 2 stations, but I can never seem to find the Urban station down there that plays current Hip-Hop and R&B.

If a station has filed an STA or is in the process of renewing their license(allbeit late) even though their license may show as deleted, they are aloowed to stay on the air till the issue is resolved.
