96.7 K-Love Signing On Very Soon

Keep in mind that there are other stations on the 107.1 FM frequency in northern New Jersey that could be under consideration if the letter writer above was either mistaken/confused/misled/misleading. Those would be the stations that were part of the country quadrocast from 1996-2002: WWZY Long Branch, NJ "The Breeze" and WWYY Belvidere, NJ "The Bone". Just food for thought...

And if Pamal were considering unloading WXPK, you can't help but wonder if the top bidders for that signal would be the two stations that PJC refers to in the above post. Kinda start a new simulcast; though I am aware that Breeze already simulcasts on another frequency.

The simulcast of WWZY and now-WXPK served "Y-107" quite well, but I don't think "The Breeze" has much interest in expanding northward into the NYC area, because their target area is the "Jersey Shore". If anything, they'd rather expand southward, to get a better signal into Atlantic City than what their current simulcast on 99.7 WBHX is delivering.

DUDE

There's five R&B stations, six Adult Contemporary stations and one Classic Rock station........what is ONE TINY little Christian Radio station going to do to you? Chill out and change the station!

I was a freqent 96.7 Kool radio listener; then 96.7'the Coast..I heard only STATIC on Wed June 1, 2011 on the North shore of LI....and today I was AGAST to hear more Christian Contemporary radio...similar to Party105 from the east end of LI....was simulcasting on 101.5fm from a Plainview LI tower...and now its become another Christian broadcasting station..This is NOT Peoria...or Boise...or Tuscaloosa or Altoona, PA...its the suburbs of metro NY..The very LAST thing we need is the FCC allowing Christian Contemporary radio on more than ONE NY station..enough is enough..where can I file a formal complaint?

Cool to hear from "the other side". I can get WKLV all the way to the Woodbridge/New Haven line on rte 15 then it fades off to static.

Heading south on Route 17 today 96.7 WKLV-FM was crystal clear till about Lodi before the pirate started to kick in......By the time I got to the Meadowlands on Route 3 WKLV-FM was there but putting up a real fight with the pirate.....When i got to Hoboken I could not hear 96.7 well at all as it was filled with mostly static.....I have a feeling that if WKLV-FM can't be heard will in Hoboken, it's got to be worse in Manhatten.

Now two side notes.....First that 103.9 pirate where ever its coming from is really strong.....WFAS-FM started having issues by Garden State Plaza and once past Lodi it was just about gone completely and never came back......Sad since WFAS-FM should be clear thoughout Southern Bergen County......Also while driving down to Hudson County, I was suprised how well 100.7 WHUD came in...For a Class B Hudson Valley station 40 miles away it was really listenable in Hoboken as well as through the hills along the Hudson River.

It was off the air, today. :'(

It may be off the air for a little longer. Some technical matters need to be corrected. "Stay Tuned", and PRAY that they can resolve them, and get back on the air ASAP!

I'm an Atheist, but the sight of God's hand reaching down and hitting the "Plates On" button on WKLV's transmitter because of your prayers might be enough to convert me. :)

Impossible... it's a solid state transmitter! ;D ;D

Glad you're able to hear them again.

Hope they can keep the station up and running now.

I wish I COULD hear them! I have to go out in the car and drive a little ways before I get even a hint of their signal. It's REALLY nice to have it in the car, tho! :) Would have been GREAT, had they started operations while I was working down in Norwalk! I could have listened to them every day, on that wretched commute, and even at work, itself! :)

Must be something special going on today, as I speak 10:35pm I can receive WKLV-FM 96.7 KLOVE in Matamoras, PA!

Yet I cannot receive the WLKA 88.3 KLOVE in Tafton/Scranton, PA

The technical term is "Tropospheric Ducting". It's when layers of the atmosphere act like a "waveguide" to VHF frequencies, allowing them to be heard over much longer distances than normal. Weather fronts frequently cause these conditions.

Thank you WPHA (Willie), I have seen the term thrown about before but never knew the exact explanation for it!
