96.7 KDOG/Mankato, MN returns to CHR as "Hot 96.7"

Mankato's historic CHR, 96.7 KDOG, has returned to CHR as Hot 96.7.  The website (www.967kdog.com) is down, but their stream is at http://stream1.securenetsystems.net:81/radio_player_large.cfm?stationCallSign=KDOG

KDOG was CHR in 1984 until the late 90s when it went Modern AC, and later Hot AC as "The Spot".  In 2006, they flipped to adult hits which had mediocre ratings, and just returned to CHR today as "Hot 96.7".  KKCK/Marshall (KDOG's sister station), KDWB/Twin Cities, and B96/Twin Cities (rhythmic CHR) all showed up in the ratings since there was a void for the format.

Looking at the music logs of Mankato's Z-99, I see they've been doing CHR at night:

I've been listening to Hot 96.7's stream and have noticed they're running liners taking shots at Z-99. I'm wondering if Z will tweak their daytime sound and go more CHR 24/7, or conversely tweak their nighttime sound and go Hot AC 24/7.

Z99 has flirted with CHR at night for a few years, and they run radio auctions in the afternoon (Three Eagles, Z's parent company, is big on radio auctions).  Mix 108 in Duluth was also Hot AC in the day and CHR at night until 92.1 went straight CHR in its last year (it flipped to AC in 2008), when Mix opened up to more rhythmic tracks in the daytime while still skewing adult.  I believe Z99 used to be CHR for a time as well.
